He is good enough to play in about a third of the teams from La Liga. He is obviously way out of his league at Barca, but he'd probably be a good player for an average Spanish team like Granada for example.

How do you know he is good enough for them? Did he impress you by all the matches he hasn't played for Barca? :pep:

Yeah. My guess is he doesn't want his salary to be lowered. I don't think playing football is his main concern right now. Just getting his check and spanish citizenship.

He has not shown even the smallest bit of quality.

We offered him on loan for free to any team we could last season and the newly promoted Real Betis was more eager to take Montoya on loan and pay his wages. I'm fairly certain every fullback our B team has had in the last decade has been better than him. Even now we're offering to give him away for free and nobody even wants him.

Don't forget that in Brazil he was generally considered useless by his own fans. If you think he's good enough for an average Spanish team in La Liga, you're basically saying that anyone would be good enough.

He was disliked by his fans at Sao Paulo and was destroyed by 3rd division players in the Copa del Rey. No La Liga team want him. Sevilla previously did for god knows what reasons.

I'm not sure whether he actually is a starting material even at Granada.

I swear to god, this guy is a living miracle. He has more CLs than Ibrahimovic. He should do speeches on Tv and stuff to tell people that everything is possible

How do you even know he isn't good enough for them, we barely seen him play, 378 minutes ! really ?
And don't tell me he didn't play because he isn't good enough as a player, he didn't play because he isn't
good enough FOR BARCELONA / there are players who are better ahead of him, but what would make him not good enough
for Sevilla for example ? they wanted him at some point, now they have Coke and Mariano. I just don't think clubs will
gamble and pay his salary while not being sure about his quality, he played only 378 minutes in two years !

Go read some 2014 stuff Sao polo fans posted on him here. He was doomed from the start.

He played so few minutes because he's an awful player. As DonAK said, he got humiliated by 3rd division players in the copa del rey. He had one scene where they made him panic with just a slight bit of pressure and he sent a low cross through his own (crowded) box.

Sao Paulo fans wanted him benched because even in Brazil, he sucked. His entire signing was obvious money laundering, there's really nothing else to be said.

Did he ?

Casemiro wasn't an awful player for not playing enough under Benítez and Zidane at some point :) Not to mention B team players and Juvenil A players that weren't being given a chance despite being good enough > Aitor ;) Coaches' choices will never be a rating material, at least for me, that's not a rule you can base on to rate a player. >>>> Bartra just came to my mind :D

I don't want to be misunderstood, I don't say Douglas is good enough for LaLiga teams, maybe he is, we don't know. What I say is that he isn't as bad as people trying to say until he plays and proves it clearly.

You are either blind or deluded. I really don't think there's any nice way of saying that. I gave a specific example of why Douglas is so bad and you say we "Don't know" how good he is?

Everyone who has ever seen him play can agree he's awful.

The individual highlights of his worst match with us is right above your reply, do you call that awful ? lol
What was your specific example ?
