This is what we need in our defence. And our set pieces would finally be more dangerous.

Come on guys, let's not overrate here after 1 good performance and a lucky goal after a moving free kick where players were still getting in position, not prepared. After all the corners and crosses and free-kick crosses in Sevilla's box, only that one got in and I mentioned the reason. Moreover, we missed Fazio, our almost 2 meters tall defender due to yellow card suspension. Nevertheless, I think Mangala is a good player and I've seen him perform in other Porto's matches, average solid I would say at best, nothing extra special, but the thing that I like more is Porto's policy to sell players in an overrated price and set silly clauses for them... like 50 million for Mangala .... come on !

I rather get Porto scouts than him.

100% without a doubt the best scouting team in the world for over a decade.
Some interesting articles about Porto: (the only transfer deficit was 500k over the past decade, profits over 200m)

We have scouts :eusa_think: ?? I thought they were youtube addicts that could only go after well established unattainable players

nah, seems they're following Wenger's footsteps and go after kids, too bad even THAT they can't do well

But yeah the scouting team is pretty shit. Messi is their only saving grace but that was over a decade ago.

I remember having a discussion here about which young (non la masia) and upcoming unknown player we signed for cheap that turned out to be a huge success for us, couldn't find a single name.
Maybe Hallilovic or Denis Suarez will be one, but even they weren't a buy and immediately blow up kind of players.

He was really poor against Sevilla tonight.

Was all over the place and struggled with Sevillas movement.

Looked nothing like a 30m player today.

He always has been. He is a good player but nowhere near the price they ask for. Most people who rave over him probably never saw him play more than a few games.

Porto players all are overpriced. People should not fall for that.

Exactly. I mentioned right before the first leg match where he scored a goal, luckily enough without height presence in defense (Fazio and M'bia missing), I really like Porto's way of overpricing and actually selling the players overpriced, but forgot to mention that I like it more how they find clubs that fall for that, the convincing and all that goes along... incredible right ?

Mangala was probably their poorest player last night as JamDav mentioned, and you know what Galning, I read that his clause is somewhere around 40-50 million euros and I read it right in this forum, can't find that 50 million post, but I could see 35 million pounds in the previous page... crazy !
