I cannot imagine a Barca side without Abidal for the next couple of seasons, at least...Gotta make sure he signs

I remember reading something a bit back about the tax issue wrt his wages, perhaps that remains one of the sticking points

Must keep Ice Man

..and Grimaldo is too young.
It can't be about money so I guess he is contemplating retirement.

We really need to get going with a cloning machine of sorts.

First two people would be: Abidal of last season and Henrik Larsson of 05/06.

Well, we have Messi of the next three seasons. It could in theory be even better.

Ronaldinho of 2005 would be third in line (he should be first tbh).

Larsson of all people? You can do better than that;) (Rivaldo, Ronaldinho etc.)

Talking about a left back, which player could replace Abi from abroad?

My take is Cissokho. Awesome player who strangely enough have not been rumoured to us yet.

I was thinking more to improve our squad rather than just a dream team from all-time :D

Although the thought of prime Dinho, prime Messi and prime Rivaldo in one attack is just... I dunno. It might be overkill  Dinho would have to change to fit in with Pep's Barça.

Cissokho isn't that good, he hasn't progressed at Lyon. Looked great at Porto though, if he got back to that form he could replace Abidal.

Aha, fair enough;)

Yeah, what a attack that could be. Add Ronaldo, Romario, Cruyff and Maradona to that lot:worthy: (Messi, Cruyff, Maradona and Ronaldo in one attack, imagine that prospect for a second)

Cissokho unfortunately lost a bit of his touch but he is still young and has showed his potential on numerous occasions. He has it all to be a brilliant left back for us.

He wants a better contract because he realized he doesn't like walking everywhere, maybe?

Well, Sport has him quoted as saying the terms of the contract are not adequate - both in terms of length & wages...So, money is at issue

Abidal wants to renew until 2014, while the club offers a contract until 2013 plus an optional year based on performances in 2012-13

After a time of reflection, the renewal talks with Abidal (31) will be reopened. No deal on salary either. Deadline 31 December.
