Congrats lads.

Great signing for the moment atleast.

This guy's a guaranteed goalscorer and very young despite all the caveats that can be mentioned.

Tebas' comments were pretty telling

Still feel like he'll end up at City although it's been talked about pretty much everywhere how he prefers to play in Spain.

Laporta: "I deny that there's been any type of negotiation for Haaland. Meeting between Xavi and Haaland in Munich? That is none of my business. It's a conversation between sportsmen without any type of negotiation." [sport]

He could just put the 75m bid in for Haaland, like with Beckham back in the day, just to have the legal right to talk to Haaland.

Being dependent on Messi had nothing to do with him being a star. It was because of his play style and having the ability to unlock defences. If we play the same with Haaland and give him the ball as often as we can, it'll lead to nothing. Team must be cohesive already before Haaland arrives. He'll be the icing on the cake, not the foundation.

When someone is a superstar, comes in as a superstar, and gets paid the highest wage in the team (or even worse substantially higher than the 2nd)
he has a certain status, authority, and power in the dressing room.
And that means (more often than not) that the team has to adjust to his wishes and needs, rather than the other way around.

Messi wanted to drop as fuck'n deep as he wanted to touch the ball, and the ball always to pas through him.
It was his desire that completely fucked up our way of playing.

Haaland will have other desires that might as well fuck up the functionality of our way of playing.

Superstars help better sell the team, Haaland will be the focus and others like Pedri, Gavi and Ansu will be auxiliary for those that prefer someone different to him.

That's the antiquated logic Laporta is after

Sorry, we are in 2022

Barca get better with Haaland.

Teams get worse when give up elements of game that is too much to cover and that doesnt come with Haaland.

Real are not getting worse because they get Mbappe and Barca dont get worse if get Haaland.

Generally true, but Lewandowski is a superstar for example, and also a team player who listens to the manager. Not all superstars are undisciplined. Some are true professionals and do what they are asked to do.

Xavi is similar to Pep. We all saw how Pep handled Ibrahimovic. With Messi he found a way for it to work brilliantly for the team.

I think we might get, and I have explained why.

The problem is that the 'wait and see' approach is too risky...
Every other player we can replace (if they fail) within 1-2 years.
But with this kind of mega-deal, if it goes wrong, it totally dooms us

Depends on what type of mega-deal we're dealing with here. But yeah, it's a risk for sure. I'd prefer smart reasonable signings like Liverpool is doing with Salah, Mane, Jota, Luis Diaz.
