Erling Haaland

Sure, but the "he doesn't have a proper #9" excuse will be gone now. At the very least need to get to the final again soon.

Not really

We all thought perfect striker Zlatan would suit Pep

But he did better with no striker and Messi false 9

Haaland is a risk like all transfers but he will outlast Pep

La Liga in shambles!!

Let’s hope Mbappe goes to Madrid

why would you hope anything like that ?

Mbapee + Benzema would dominate La Liga for years to come and would probably win or have a really good chance of winning next CL's .

It's pretty much wishing for Barca to not win anything for the near future.

Hyped to watch him in the EPL and relieved he didn't join Madrid. if Pep fails in the CL again next season he should walk imo

As predicted all along Barca will claim Haaland wanted to sign but couldnt afford it and signed elsewhere.

This club is stuck in the past with shite they speak and way try to manipulate the fans.

They still think Spanish football has a technical edge and all top players want to be there and if dont cant possibly be its not as an attrative destination as they think.

Haaland has to adapt to a different type of football, and has to improve hold-up play, so there are some question-marks, but will probably be a hit for them.

The only time the club said that was Laporta (and his henchman Enric Masip) but that was a while ago, even then they didn't explicitly say anything about Haaland wanting to sign etc. Since then the club had said pretty much nothing before today, when Xavi said again the economic conditions of the club doesn't permit this from happening. Of course nobody would say, no, Haaland is not coming because he doesn't want to come here. Not Barca, not Madrid, not any club.

They didn't manipulate the fans, if they did, they wouldn't have come out so early (several months ago) saying that we wouldn't be able to sign him. Manipulating fans would be creating and keeping feeding the false hope that we can sign him but in the end, it doesn't happen and then blame it on something else outside of their control.

No Xavi more or less said it today and media will repeat it as well.

They go on about Barca being back in market this summer and all players wanting to sign for Barca etc.

All nonsense and played out as predicted.

Of course they maniplulate fans they did exactly as you outlined. Hinted and leaked for months about Haaland in media and gave smug hints at Haaland arriving. When it got to point it was clear it was all nonsense they start to distance from signing him and blame it on finances.
