Raiola was talking to 3-4 teams since then and Haaland preference been known a long time. Only gave green light to City deal in April once it was clear RM is prioritising Mbappe and can't pay for both of them
Athletic long reported he's also had to get assurances Guardiola is not going anywhere during his first few years. Save them winning trebles, he's RM bound once clause is active. Don't need to be hardcore madridista. Just his preference for which contract been designed

I think you are the more triggered one here, my friend, insisting that Haaland will come to Madrid in two years and that he might have disagreement with Pep etc., like him joining you is a sure thing and just a matter of time. Again, we will see if you are right.
Honestly I don't think he or Mbappe will be coming here not because of Lewandowski, who I do believe won't be playing a lot of minutes at age 36 or 37 in two or three years, but because we won't be able to afford the money (both transfer fee/release clause money and wages) as our finances will still be tough in the next 4-5 years in my opinion. We will be going after somebody cheaper, maybe one of those Brazilian ones.

He's in a better place to be in BDO race on the annual basis and will want to play as long as body holds up and barely any reason to think he'll get hurt more considering he barely did. He's a striker so will play even longer than converted wingers like CR and won't stop dieting on a whim. You're basically stuck with him till end of contract and won't be able to target anyone until he stops pushing of own volition. Considering finances you also won't be in good place to try bench him to force him out

Real never really showed any intent on Haaland this window whilst Benzema was there as the immediate focus was Mbappe.
Looked as if Mbappe was wrapped up until the U-turn and they’d focus their attention to Haaland in a couple years.
Does seem a little coincidental that the release clause kicks in when Benzema will most likely have slowed down and phased out.

When Raiola was doing rounds with Alfie United dropped off interest as wouldn't accept the clauses on back of being too big a club to not have autonomy over player future. Solskjaer wouldn't even bother calling SAF and other former teammates to get Ronaldo in and avoid him at City if he'd known Haaland is the prime target for 2022 too. So clause logically very likely in place as reported and targeting 2024. Just a question how much it is and whether Haaland himself will still be as interested as was originally. Never seemed that fussed about City in the first place.

Educated? Educated about what? You are essentially telling me that the only reason Haaland has a buyout clause in his contract with City is because he wants to come to Madrid eventually, City is just a spring board for the next couple of years, and now he knows Mbappe is not coming so he will definitely say yes whenever Madrid triggers it. A very big claim. So I got educated about your personal belief and theory? OK.
We are stuck with Lewandowski in the sense that we have to pay his wages for the duration of his contract, whether it is 3+1 or 4 years, but that doesn't mean he will be playing most minutes as the CF in the next 3 or 4 years. As he gets older and becomes less effective, he will have less minutes and it is natural and not unimaginable at all that the club will be looking for new and younger CF in a couple of years. And you think Haaland or any high caliber CF would shun Barcelona simply because of a 36, 37 year-old Lewandowski is still playing? I don't think so. Of course, I said it already, I don't believe Haaland or Mbappe will come because we won't be able to afford the cost.
