The World Cup might be overrated in terms of the overall quality of it, but it's by far the most prestigious trophy/tournament in football, the la crème de la crème and the trophy every player wants the most.
With that being said if City win the treble and Haaland bags some goals here in the SF/Final he's deservingly going to get the BdO.

Haaland wins the Golden shoe award since that is literally all about the amount of goals. Other than that, either Leo, De Bruyne or Mbappe should win the Ballondor. If WC in summer 2023 then Messi easily wins. But it was last year event so Haaland edges now.
Ok, that was a neat thing. Headed the ball down and then quickly passed it to De Bruyne. Quick thinking. However, you guys are way too generous for this fella. He really isnt in any way a great all-around footballer. He scored a boatload of goals, because he plays in what is currently the best team in the World. And yes, he is a phenomenal finisher, reads the game well, is strong and has exceptional pace. But these qualities alone dont make one a truely great footballer, let alone the best in the World. You cannot judge everything by a statistic. He has a lot of goals. Well, a great deal of more of less ordinary players have scored a shit-load of goals. Inzaghi, Gomez, Klose, Toni, Van Nistelrooy... Nobody says that any of these players was a truely phenomenal footbaler, let alone someone who should have won a Ballondor, meaning that they are THE best player in the World. Ridiculous. A player like Haaland should never, ever win a Ballond`or. You cannot compare him to Suarez, Benzema or even Lewy. It is ridiculous in this day and age when everything we measure is a statistic and just how short people`s memories are. Luis Suarez was a complete player who never won a Ballon`dor. Watch his goals for Uruguay. Watch his performances for Liverpool and Barcelona (in his first three years). Now there was a player. Now there was a striker. Haaland? The most overrated player in the World.
