He tailed off towards end of last season in both league and Europe for whatever reason but he isnt failing to score v the better sides.

Bayern were probably the best team City played in CL last season and he scored home and away. Think his record is close to 7 in 7 v Bayern.

V 2nd place Arsenal 2 goals and 2 assists in 2 games.
V 3rd place Man Utd 3 goals and 2 assists in 2 games.
v 4th place Newcastle 1 goal and 1 assist in 2 games

Haaland is going to score goals against all levels of sides.

If Messi went to City and had those stats v the CL qualifying sides folk would be going bananas about how much he owns EPL.

Of course they would, and they'd be right, because Messi brings 20 more things to the table that Haaland simply can't dream about doing. IE dribbling, playmaking, through balls etc.

What a bizarre comparison to make. You've had an absolute mare there Jammy my son.

Haaland is not really a liability defensively though so pros and cons either way.

Historically, Messi is of course a way better player, but last season? Not so sure.

Messi is eating up all his energy with forward ball carrying and dribbling which is exhausting. Halland's job is to score goals. pressing is his only other job.
I feel a poacher (great one) and a total player should not be compared.
