Pretty much. We have abundance of quality. It's not about having best or nearly best in every position. You need hunger, cohesion, players fighting for each other and the club. Inspiring coach that players look up to and respect. (Think Lucho was close to all of that and I wouldn't mind having him back one day.)

My country used to play slow football with not much running and did fairly well considering but this World Cup really opened my eyes when I saw them transformed into hard-working inspired unit. And it's not like we were some side filled with kids looking to prove themselves. Those players won a lot in their clubs.

It can be done here in Barca too. We just need the right man in charge. Don't think Valverde has the balls or mandate to do that eventhough he is a solid coach.

But we do have all that fight. Compare how we fight in the league to how Real fight.

It's not the same high intensity as in CL. It's more consistency than intensity. We play consistently very good, but rarely amazing and intense. Madrid play often poorly, but in CL nights they produced more intensity and better football (precisely because of extra focus and extra intensity) than Barcelona over the last 2 seasons.

I agree that CL has more status and is harder to win, but winning leagues is all about fight and toil.

I think that at this moment Real Madrid has more institutional drive to win the Champs League than we do. Perhaps they also have a better team than us?

But winning leagues is all about fight. It's often about making the trip to some shit hole ground with a hostile crowd when you don't feel that great and putting in a shift. Showing that consistency is all about mental strength. Anyone can motivate themselves for a big CL night. Maybe we are mentally vulnerable in those knockout games but it's not lack of fight

Against Roma, we had a very palpable lack of fight and heart in that match. I do think that Real just take the CL more seriously than we do at times.

Assuming we get Vidal, Valverde will have a squad with some interesting options compared to a season ago.

This will be down on the coach to actually use his options this time around and instead of overusing a number of players due to lack of quality on the bench.
