Honestly never been impressed with him despite Belgium's WC performance, and I watched Everton when he was there to follow Deulofeu, same season Coleman caught my eyes. Thought the guy could play for a better team, but then started getting injured and seemingly never recovered from his leg break.

He's not a bad manager, but wouldn't be on my first choice list for the job.
I like how he plays very attacking football against smaller teams but makes some adjustments against top team eventho he clearly isent a tactically mastermind.
He also wouldent be my choise but I think the kind of 3-4-2-1 he plays would suit our squad alot more than the formations we use now.

I agree on the Coleman part btw. It surprised me that no better team picked him up. Before his knee injury that is.

Wow ... breaking news ... things are gonna get interesting and real fast !!

Suarez has apparently broke ranks !!

Copied direct from Twitter

Suárez: "Valverde remains passive... We now have a very tough game in the Champions League and it could go any way. I always say responsibility leans more to the players' side... but Valverde needs to start doing more."

I hope this kicks the Fraudverde out and also gets Suarez benched! Not for speaking against a supposed manager but for doing jack shit for over a year now

Its the 83 years old Luis suarez not our guy. Never take zidane82 aka zincubus' posts seriously

I envy manu a lot coz they are losing which will lead to mou's sack but here we win here and there and EV won't be sacked.

The board knew they were at a stage when they needed to rebuilt the team.

Yet, Valverde's go to first 11 has been the old team from 2015 minus Neymar, Alves, and Iniesta. Basically the players he was forced to replace. Hell, last year when Iniesta was available he played him almost all the time.

Valverde basically used the same players as 3-4 years ago, minus the ones who left.

We needed reconstruction and we made signings for reconstructions, but we've brought in a manager who doesn't want to rejuvenate the team at all and uses the same players in order to grind out some results. That's the cold hard truth.

We basically did the same mistake United did with Mourinho.

I'm not sure what the options are out there. I doubt Heynckes would come out of retirement just for us. He has no ties to us.

Conte would be an interesting choice but a lot of interviews suggested his Chelsea tenure made him very tired and he will need a bit of a break.

Really, who's out there to choose who can match Barca's class? I say Barca goes back to its roots and hires someone who has lots of history with the club: Unzue, Abelardo, Eusebio?

Unzue??? Abelardo??? Eusebio??? WTF dude???

I would have taken Sarri in a heartbeat. Man's a genius and so full of passion. Sadly our club always have to learn things the hard way.

I don't think they would just hire a random free manager in case Valverde gets sacked. "Barca DNA" would still be important to them i guess.

Then there would also things like not knowing the club, the league, maybe the language etc so even if they would hire an international that would be hard to pull off in the middle of the season.

(Ex)Barca (B) coach sounds more likely in that case imo and then look for someone new to take over in summer. A big name for just half a year would also look a bit chaotic.

But i think if he makes it through October with okish results he will get to stay, expect him to somehow make it to the summer with mediocre but tolerable results and then just not get his contract extended.

Valverde has had the polar opposite effect on his players to Klopp who has improved virtually every player in Liverpool's squad .. plus they're playing football we can only dream of seeing again ;(

EV doesn't have the drive that Klopp has. That's not his personality.
