To be fair, The ref robbed them. We got robbed vs inter next year. But not Chelsea in 12. We played bettet, but its not like ref was at fault. Still remember my huge dissapointment when messi missede The pen.

Rubbish. We had as many bad calls against us in that tie. The difference is minimal. In the Inter tie about 7/8 important calls were against us.

Where is the Henry penalty on Camp Nou with red for Bosingwa (stoping an imminent goalscoring opportunity), plus a clear 2nd yellow card for Ballack? Plus the wrong offside for Eto'o 1 vs 1 with Cech?

So, we have:

1 pen not given.
2 red cards for Chelsea not given
1 almost sure goal denied.

That's in the first leg nobody talks about lol. Plus the rubbish red card for Abidal in the return leg.

Are you a Barca fan, by curiosity? You should know these things if you are.

Here, food for thought:

Switching from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 while having a great track record with 4-4-2 and it fitted the group of players we had more than 4-3-3, is pretty much prove of it. As said, he develops slowly a more barca-like playing style, and he can just do so much with the players the club provides him and the results Barca are expected to get. Not even Pep could play total or tiki-taka-football and win titles with this squad. Paulinho was sold, and Arthur was implemented in the starting line-up, because he had the quality and profile (while also having barca-dna-traits) to play for us.

But yeah, if you think, that the only way to be a barca fan is that you no matter what support the cruyff-model even tho it means we wont be relevant for any throphies and may do us big harm in the long run, then we dont really have anything to debate about.
Im fine with taking a more pragmatic stand for the time being, so we can compete in all competions and secure us titles and make the club better globaly. Doesnt mean i dont want Barca to play total-tiki/taka football - thats the ideal we have to work towards, but we can take a more pragmatic stand in a situation like the one we are in with a lot of our all-time club legends having retired / quit the team and losing Messis succesor in Neymar. And im not the only one, thinking this way, even Pique openly supports Valverde, while being a life-long club member, having ambition of being president, grandson of former president, often has supported the "barca-way" in media, generally has strong feelings about the club and always honest in the media. You tell me Pique doesnt know anything about what Barca is about?

Edit: Its not like we play mourinho-football. And defending a lead has happened less and less (also prove of valverdes ambition to reach a point to play barca-like football). And please dont tell me we tried to defend the lead against Lyon, we clearly didnt.

I think I discussed the 4-2-2/ 4-2-3-1 vs. 4-3-3 formation many times before and why EV is the issue, not the players. You can't have 4-3-3 with double or triple pivot period. Double/triple pivot still his favorite lineup even with the introduction of Arthur. You need to have a destroyer, controller/Passer and creator combo for the 4-3-3 to be implemented successfully. Do we have those players? Yes! BTW, The introduction of Arthur was all out of necessity, not a planned act. Rakitic was injured for more than a month or so. He had no choice but to introduce Arthur. He got whistled by the crowds when he used to sub him off, then he got the message that Arthur is good.

valverde is a rubbish manager we should have nt renew his contract, he should not have played dembele if he was not fully fit and with many other things he does, hopefully next season will be his last season here then we can get a good manager.

If this today is a 4-4-2 flat, than... Man... We are fucked if he practises it again in the CL.

4-4-2 diamond somehow works.

4-4-2 flat is utter horror. Especially with 4 players who can play as DM's in the midfield.

Villarato!
Could also make sense as 3-5-2 with Busquets dropping in between CBs. Raki & Arthur wider than normal doesn’t seem ideal with fullbacks on decent form.
