Ernesto Valverde - V1

Not nearly as good as EV fans. I merely stated the sheer paradox of your statement, how you see yourself as opposed to the rest, ironically labelled by you as "hateprs".

I don't think this squad should be struggling to get results, but when it comes to EV, expectations are always lower so any good results that come by gets over glorified. I think over the past 2 seasons it's Bartomeu that really boost the depth of our squad as compared to previous seasons. It's the hiring of managers that never seem to be ambitious.

In any case, you always post about EV doing a great job whenever a seemingly good result comes by but eventually shatters the next few games, especially during the late season. La Liga definitely has dropped in standards, in particular the downfall of Real Madrid and the stagnation of Atletico.

In terms of knowledge, ability and player development, EV really falls behind. I believe another safe manager or an AI would yield the same result. One who depends on injuries to rotate, subs the same people/ position almost every game isn't "handling the situation" well, because I jolly well know this is the type of shit that would trip the club over.

While the circumstances does look great now, as it always does in early seasons, that honestly doesnt mean "he is handling the situation well" and certainly will not be in the future. The way he handles things is pretty amateur and depends on the senior players to pull strings, at the same time not giving them rests.

It's just comical.

Believing in the squad or believing in the manager is two different teams. I have 100% confidence in the squad, but the manager tends to screw things over. You can give him another season or a lifetime for all you want, but you'll just end up seeing no progress in the club, let alone another major trophy. Lucho did get the treble in first season, but subsequently problems start to surface.

Yes. Alba and pique arent playing the best football in their careers. Lenglet, Arthur, dembele are poorly integrated in The team. Valverde hasnt been able to switch a box to box player with a tiki-taka player in our starting line-up. A guy who is 22 and just came from brazilian League. Messi isnt pulling stats like his peak in 11-12. Valverde isnt the one who. Made alena adapt and fit a role as Rm and make him look like a future starter. Didnt win the double after ney-gate. Isnt well-liked in the squad, by management pr locals.

Lets focus on malcom and a the slightly change in style

Cant wait for the board to announce a 7 year contract for EV after the treble so I can see who the real fans of the club are and who are here just for glory hunting

How is it glory hunting if we dislike Valverde? So far he's been incapable of making any sort of system and plays boring football. I think those are good enough reasons to get sacked.

4-4-2 (1 solid system)

uneven 4-3-3, messi hybrid ( second solid system). What are you even talking about?

Sorry but these are not systems. These are formations (numerically how your team is going to be positioned on the field during the game). A system is much more complex than just numbers. A system is the way you want to face the game, how your players will try to beat the opposite players and score goals.

Letting the other team to have the ball, then as soon as our team get the ball back attack very fast using the wings. That's one example of a system based on counter attack.

Having the ball, creating multiple passing lanes, building the play from the back, playing through the middle and trying to get inside the penalty area to score. That's another example of a system, this time, based on possession and trying to get as close as possible to goal before shooting.

Now, what's Valverde's system? In first half we try to play a possession style, but a possession needs to have several passing lanes and movement off the ball, we don't have both. He always park the bus in second half, but we don't have players to run and counter attack. So, we're basically in the middle of nowhere, we have some counter attack system with possession system at the same time during a game (like WTF?).

There's some moments of the game that's normal to change some caracteristics of your system, like: stop crossing to your tallest striker and start crossing to your fastest striker. But the principle of crossing is still there. Atletico sometimes press higher on the pitch, sometimes they will press deep, sometimes will press really hard, sometimes they make a soft press. But the concept of pressing is still there.

I can only conclude that Valverde is creating something really new, that even Pep can't think, but if that's the case then 1) players are not liking it 2) it's very hard for players to understand, that's why we struggle, are slow at attacking and bad at defending; 3) Valverde has no clue of what he wants.

People who just check whoscored and don't watch matches properly won't know that.

We must win the coming three games

Vs Real Betis away
Vs Espanyol home
Vs Villarreal away

after these three games, we will have 8 games left which we can afford to rotate the entire 11 every two games. Hopefully, AM drops a few points next game against D. Alavés.

Best chance to win the treble in DECADES and this cunt will fuck it up. The board have fucked this club over big time.

In 2009 and 2015 it wasn't anywhere near as straightforward.

Giving such a contract to anyone even Pep is beyond stupid. Not surprising in the least coming from you.

Valverde will remain manager until he leaves or he stops winning trophies, that much is certain. Playing style and circumstances aside, he has won trophies and will win in the immediate future as well. I'm waiting to see the outcome in CL.

How long was he renewed for? Two more seasons?

Is that important? If he doesn't leave on his own and he brings trophies, he'll stay for even more if he wants to. The real pressure will be when we mess up in La Liga/CL. As long as he wins 1 of those 2 his job is secured I think.

I even think he could survive another major fuck up in CL as long as we win the double, which 90% we will. Madrid is out so our season will be great either way, CL or not.

With the investment made in the squad I think the minimun requirement will be SFs. Bartomeu's tenure is ending in 2021 and he's gonna support the old fart Cardoner so they won't risk getting cleaned in the elections with another couple of years of disappointing CL runs.

The amount of dirty politics in FC Barcelona will guarantee that Valverde will get replaced if the team keep underperforming in the CL.

He'll probably get the semi in CL, because United is not even half as good as Barcelona. I'd bet on a loss vs Liverpool, so he'll do just about as good as his quality as a manager allows him to. Very slim chances he wins the CL, considering there are 3 comparable teams out there with much better managers.

I think the pressure in CL on Barca was put by Madrid mostly. Don't think such a big deal would've been made if Madrid hadn't won the last 3.
