Exactly this! Don't think people in here realistically consider him a genius. He is a man employed to deliver results. We could just as well have another Tata Martino on the bench, but fortunately Valverde is not that shite. Elite coaches are hard to find/get and even then they might not be the right fit.
Guardiola - don't know if he even wants to return
Mourinho - not for us, plays shitty defensive football
Klopp - plays attacking football, seems a nice guy, but he is german and the culture gap might not be a good fit, also has an ongoing project at liverpool
Pochettino - got some results with smaller clubs, hasn't won shit, his past doesn't help either
Ancelotti - a very likeable guy, but old and don't think he might be a good fit long term
Conte - crazy bastard, don't think players would appreciate his style
Allegri - eternal loser in CL, I'm sure forummers would appreciate him
And then you have the rest: Sarri, Tuchel, Pellegrini, Mancini, Emery etc - nothing special if you ask me
Looking at our past we would be better of employing a Dutch or a Spanish guy. Spanish coaches are either shite/unproven at elite or already taken(lucho, guardiola). There is no Dutch coach proven at the highest level, so all we can do is take a punt on one of them - Koeman or the Ajax coach?
Taking into account our recent history, the players at his disposal, I can say that Valverde is doing great. He is no genius, he is not a man to build a dinasty(don't think anybody can at barca or real), he is not charismatic, plays pragmatic football when the situation requires it and didn't revolutionise football(very few coaches did in history).
So don't know what's with all the moaning and over the top expectations. He might not last another season here so its not as if we got him for life. Enjoy the moment, support the team, thank your God for not having another Tata and shut the fuck up about it.

I’m waiting until the end of the season before I praise Valverde, we got unbelievable lucky against Liverpool. A part of me thinks this is not over yet this tie. We are winning games because of Messi genius brilliance.
