Ernesto Valverde

The key difference being that Lucho is actually a CL winning coach, whereas EV is a proven CL failure. The equivalence is pathetic. Strong logic. Its almost like comparing Solari to Zidane, lol.

No that is not even remotely relevant to the point being made.

Add something that has no relevance to deflect away and saying it is 'key' does not make it so.

No one is comparing them or the squads they had to coach.

You're welcome

Lucho had one of the best teams in football history to his disposal. Come on!!!

It's no wonder our club is in shambles if our fans' standard of what constitutes a 'good coach' is someone who masterminded consecutive CL humiliations in which we had 3 goal leads. That level of incompetence would never be accepted at Real, which is why they will continue to win more trophies than us.

It was EV who encouraged ineptitude and Amigoism at the club. If he could fuck up like he did in the CL and still keep his top-paying job, what kind of lesson was that for the players? None other than abysmal failure is acceptable and fine. Which is exactly what they delivered three seasons in a row. That's the shitty mentality they brought to the 8-2.

From Lucho to EV we went from a club that had a fighting chance at the CL to a meme club the other top dogs in Europe want to draw so that they can stat pad against us.

@ Morten lol, if there was a Real coach who repeatedly fucked up and allowed Real to be humiliated, I'd be cheering them on, too. I can't take your EV defense seriously.

And there is no way to take your criticism of EV seriously, considering you confessed its purely emotional, not based on facts.

Here is the deal, your humiliations in away-ties started before Valverde, they continued after.

Also, you dont remember the situation Barca found themselves in summer 2017, nobody rated Barca to win anything, Valverde then won an easy double, then another league title the year after.

He also never lost a league clasico ever, another Clasico win would likely have been enough to make it 3 in a row, but instead you hired proven loser Setien, who simply couldn't stop losing at every opportunity he got.

Roma was a massive fuck-up, i give you that though.

EV would have achieved less than Lucho did with prime MSN because EV wasn't as brave as Lucho.

I feel reasonably certain in saying this.

Here are two facts: 1-4 to Roma; 3-0 and eliminated; 3-0 to Liverpool; 4-0 and eliminated.

That's simply unacceptable. Would a coach at Real have gotten away with that? You know they wouldn't. It shouldn't be same here. That's all.

Yeah, I think winning a CL as opposed to being eliminated through consecutive humiliations is a relevant metric to judge coaches on. I guess you just live in a world where:
1) being humiliated is fine
2) winning the CL doesn't matter
3) playing shitty football is fine

 meme 'fan'

It does, but i have never seen it being mandatory at any other club.

Seriously, what other club, instead of celebrating a domestic double, brands the entire season a failure? Only Barcelona.

Folk want to boil it down to CL 2nd legs all about coach and blame.

The first legs and anything else that season dont count as players won that... same players that played second legs.

Yes......when things goes well, manager gets no credit, when things goes wrong, its all on the manager.
Thats a real classic.

Here's a friendly reminder of what this thread used to look like when EV was actually our coach. You can tell how easily memory fades and you begin to imagine that EV was somehow not an unmitigated disaster. What's even better is that a lot of you people defending EV while shitting on Koemann will be here in three years talking about how great winning the Copa del Rey with Koemann was. And we'll be fighting for 4th spot like in the early 2000s. You guys have really shitty standards for what this club should aspire to, lol. Really telling how we went from hoping to win trebles to defending CL humiliations.

That was meant for JamDav, not you. And winning the CL is basically a requirement at Real, which is partly the reason you guys have 13 of them. High standards. At Barcelona, we reward failure.

Well now, this is interesting.
You just stated that Suarez was part of the reason why you won so much in recent years, not Valverde.

By the same logic, we can also disprove that, just by looking at all the comments made in the Suarez-thread over the years.

In fact, dont bother, we dont have to, we all know that the was majority of them are negative.
