show me your numbers, because i dont buy that for a second. for example: under pep and Lucho, messi scored in CL KO rounds pretty consistently. that declined drastically with EV, setien and koeman

the # of league goals messi consistently scored under pep and lucho likewise are MUCH higher (into the 40s and 60s) than anything Messi did later

OF COURSE these figures would decline as messi aged; there is no debate (nor anything exactly problematic in itself since it is natural)

i just have a hard time accepting the idea that messis stats/output under pep is in anyway comparable to what he produced later. i would really need to see some statistics to confirm

I won't take assignments from you. You can check his stats on Your own, adjust them for quality of team and age and see where it gets you.
But I would still like an answer, like it's the 3rd time avoiding it.. Is it true, or is false that we were barely able to beat even mediocre / low tier opponents with Messi missing (under ev, setien and koeman all the same). We have a great win against real without him, which was great but a fluke result compared to our usual standard.

if you cant back your claims up with evidence then there's no point discussing with you. if you really think messi's stats were 'similar' (your word) under both pep and post EV, you should, if youre right, easily find figures that demonstrate that

I`d love to see him back in the saddle. Doesnt have to be a big club but he needs a job. He would be soo good at Atletico.

I mean in consecutive seasons, which is a much harder feat. Of course the double has been won by many teams including the 98 Barca and Pep Barca.

Seems like the last time a team did it in consecutive seasons was Barca in the 50's.

EV almost won it consecutively as he won the league in 18/19 and made the Copa final.

Lucho did it in consecutive seasons.
