Only reason people ( mostly CR stans ) downplay Messi's last Ballon is because Lewandowski didn't get one in 2020 and last year didn't count performances in the 2020.

If Lewa got his Ballon in 2020 , last year would have been a landslide in favor of Messi and not as close at it was.
