That one Iceland goal changed everything and set us on this dark path. Portugal couldn't write a better script if they tried.

Yes, because nobody expected Portugal to win anything and everybody expected Messi to lead Argentina to a title. Double standard, yes, but I think it is because people don't rate Ronaldo as high as Messi.

The BD is Ronaldo's for sure, even if Portugal loses the final. He has the CL trophy, not to mention they are going to paint him as the hero that led Portgual to the final tonight (rightfully so). Not to mention Messi's conviction. Messi won't win it.

Rightfully so? They got into eliminations with 3rd place. They had easiest way to final (and group) and they were def best team on this side of bracket. So, pretty much it was expected for them to get past iceland, hungary, austria, poland and wales.

Messi won La Liga and Copa so its not like he is empty handed. We will see how it goes...

He won the balon d'or in a season without trophies and the are people that seriously think he can lose in a year with CL, scoring title, EURO CUP final and probably two others trophey with Real lol.

I dont remember how the draws worked before, but wouldnt it be better if the draws were random after each rounds? That way it would take alot of luck to get a easy route, now they decide that one group gets the easy path while the other get the difficult one. Fairly lame imo.

I was talking about tonight's game, which he had one goal and one assist so far.

You wanna bet, my friend? :p Messi won't win it.

Come on Luft, overall Cristiano has played an underwhelming tournament.. and in the CL final Cristiano disappeared. I'm not saying Messi is ahead of Cristiano in the race but to me at least there's no clear winner despite what Cristiano did today.

Exactly. It is his 100%.

Yes, you are right 100%. However, sadly we live in a world where only the end result matters, a world that doesn't care about the content and what happened in the process.

Times (2013/2914) when people and players thought Ronaldo is on equal footing as messi are long passed. He had good goal and fucking bad shot deflected. The fact that we are talking about assist like its been incredible night is funny

Better to be lucky than good. In the final they'll get a deflected goal off Pepe's arse and job done.

He had record year in scoring that year and messi was out for like half a year. He also had voting extended and beaten messi by extremely small percentage.

Messi this year might end up with more goals, double assists, Liga title, Copa title and Copa finale.

So? Ronaldo might end up with more goals, CL, CL top scorer, EM Final (Maybe the title), UEFA Supercup and WC.
