Karma is a bitch.

2004 Portugal host nation loses to minnow Greece with the likes of Figo, Rui Costa, Deco, Young Ronaldo in their linup.

2012 Portugal beats the host nation without any star players including an injured Ronaldo.

Karma is real.

2016...

And neah, Greece also beat France, Czech Republic and had to beat Spain in the qualifying in order to qualify, held of Spain at the final tournament and beat Portugal twice, not just once. Also Portugal 2004 was 10 classes over this one and 5 over France 16.

It doesnt always seem to be an advantage to play at home, especially when you are the big favorite. Portugal reversed the role they had from 2004, really. They also had some bad luck in 2012 tbf, wasnt it post in for Spain and post out for Portugal that settled it(penalty shootout).

It's an advantage for France... 1984 and 1998 at home, 2000 wins except final were in Belgium and neither was Rotterdam too far.

In South Africa or Korea they didn't even make it past the group stages despite their groups being the easiest of all .

Don't think they would've made it so far if it was played in Italy, Spain or England.

And totally exhausted, Deschamps should've made a change before Eder's goal, Kante should've been starter but in that situation in ET at 0-0 it was clear France needed fresh blood in front more.

I've been following football since 1997 and I've never seen a team soo lucky as Portugal was this EURO.. They played 7 matches, drew 6 of them after 90min and won only 1 match after 90min.. Even Italy deserves to win the WC 2006 more.. Congrats though.
Italy Defeated Ghana , Cech Republic , Germany and France .

Sissoko should not have started.... Players like him would be immense against tired legs

Tired legs? Portugal didnt do anything the first 90 minutes or so(as usual), how could they have been tired? I think it also showed that Portugal had more energy towards the end, no wonder.

I fucking cried at the fulltime. Can't remember the last time I cried for a football match, I feel absolutely devastated.
