Can't say I'd care if another countries fans booed my national anthem. Would just fire me up. I'd be hoping for it tbh. Guess depends what sort of mentality you have. Unless your name is Jordi Alba who would most likely cry, I reckon it gets a lot of players going. I'd be asking my fans not to boo so to not fire the other team up.

How? The Sterling penalty should not have been given against Denmark, but the one on Kane should have been. There was another blatant one in the Scotland game not given as well.

On a serious note, don't think it's fair England played all their games at home, bar one, and travelled way less than the rest. Not that I blame England, it's all on Uefa. And that pen was criminal, in such an important moment.. should end the ref's career.

Ffs I hate it's England that lucked out getting one of the best media handling managers out there today and at the moment of a perfect generation of players.
I'm not massively into the brand of football he has them play, but it works for them, he's faced and managed to break through a lot of dogmas. Can't help but respect the man with each presser and reaction he gives. Even if I sometimes don't understand the selection choices. But even that just reminds me of how stubborn and sure of himself Zidane is, except way better at pressers.

I genuinely felt that way. It was Real Madrid and Bayern Munich versus Leeds United and West Ham in midfield, and England hadn't won a knockout game against a top team since the 90's or something. Germany, by contrast, had just battered Portugal 4-2 and been the better team (imo) against France.

I don't know. I feel like England is going through marginally in every game, yet their team should do much better than what they have shown.

Of course, sometimes it's enough. Tournaments are rarely about domination, but lucking our game here and there.

They hadn't just 'battered' Portugal, they barely scraped through vs Hungary, having conceded 5 goals in group stage alone.

Midfield is like 1/3 of the side and England is balanced quite a lot better with Germany struggling upfront and England conceding 0 goals. Most bookies still had England as 2nd fav to win the whole thing too

England needed

1. A full-packed Wembley
2. A ref who whistled at every contact
3. A blatant dive occurring after another ball affecting play
4. 15 minutes of cynical time wasting

All this just to overcome Denmark by one illegal goal in extra time. What a dislikable team

1. Wembley was not full or packed. Other grounds had supporters in.
2. If he did whistle at every contact, it was the same for both clubs.
3. The referee decided the ball did not affect play. Sterling - seen them given, seen them not given, for every club and national team. In this case given. Kane penalty appeal, not given. Free kick, from which Denmark scored, should not have been given. Denmark players should have been a metre away, and then could not be held.
4. 15 mins cynical time wasting. Have you watched Italy, in the dark arts? That was not cynical by England, but what every time aspires too. You will see cynical tonight by Italy.

Can't imagine what this game will be like. Both teams wanting to sit back and hopefully get a counter? I think Italy's midfield having better passers/dribblers might cause problems for England. But England's potential pace upfront could make Italy's slow defence struggle.

If southgate goes with 8 defensive minded players on the pitch and loses I hope he's fired.
