European Super League

Bartomeu might have agreed for us to join but if we were to believe the reports, the agreement/contract was signed just this past weekend. If Laporta didn't want to join, he had all the power to say no and not sign on to it.

Laporta is no angel in all of this. He was happy to take the cash injection.

He's only shifting blame away and making excuses saying it's up to the members.

I am pretty sure Laporta gave the greenlight on this, regardless of what Bartomeu said and did.

Very poor handling by the club on this matter.

Quite the opposite. Laporta made a smart move. He remained quiet. He will wait to see what will happen before he goes public. Than he will probably go out and shit on Barto. :D

Barca announced on their site two days ago they were part of it. They dont do that without boards backing clearly.

Nothing smart and as caught out as any other club.

More like he semi-weaseled his way out with a technicality.

Something like, we agree, but we have to run it through the socios first. Well... the point is... you fucking agreed with those greedy idiots .

 Sue the ESL, who will sue the clubs that want to leave unilaterally and sign Mbappe with the compensation. :worthy: Laporta.

-- Laporta joined with the soci caveat knowing this would combust and the others would be forced to pay the 300M termination fee.

-- Those in this big 12 just so happened to be primary competition for Haaland. And now each faces the termination fee minus us.

-- Unfortunately, the Germans didn't fall for this trick and Bayern will tap up Haaland on a free in 2024.

Florentino P?rez to @lequipe "I'm not worried about anyone leaving the Super League. I am convinced that PSG and Bayern will finally join us. The situation is so serious that everyone agrees to carry out this project and seek a solution." #SuperLeagueOut

This was within the last 24 hours.

Life come at you fast.

If any of the "founding" clubs retreat they will still be "dirty" in eyes of the rest of the football world + UEFA will do it's work thrue refs in decades to come.

What smart move? We already proudly announced that we are one of the founding clubs of the ESL and IF, IF we back out and do a 180, that's a smart move?
