It's rare for father and son to succeed in any sport. In F1 there are more instances of failures than successes. Damon Hill is the only one who comes to mind right now.
Michael Andretti, the son of Mario Andretti, was hired and dropped by McLaren in 1993, instead Mika Hakkinen took the spot and cemented his status. The Brazilian kids who carry the names Piquet, Fittipaldi and Senna never made any impact. Of course the infamous Piquet crash in Singapore in 2008 which ended Flavio Briatore's schemes in F1 for good.
