Villarato!
Verstappen won like 19 of the 22 races this past season?

Complete joke this sport has become.
TBF he's arguably one of the best in history already
Dude produced monster laps out of nowhere when car struggling at times

Other than Max being a lock for #1, there is not that much separating people in #2-10. To the point that people hoped Perez would challenge Max a bit given the same car, but clearly he's a useless melt
Likes of Williams have been actually very good on the straights

Still think he and Fernando will just go drive Le Mans or whatever in 1-2 years

He is nowhere near Senna, MSC or Lewis IMO

F1 is really just a sport for engineers and the kids of the top 1%.

The barriers to entry is so high it's hard saying an F1 driver is the best in the world.

Red Bull is so dominant and after the BS a couple of years ago, I've kinda tap out from watching F1.

These other teams need to catch up with red Bull for us for see what max is really made of

Everyone that follows F1 knows what Max is really made of.

He's a generational talent on the level of Hamilton, Alonso, Vettel, Schumacher, Senna, Prost, etc. He has shown that ever since he made his debut and when he didn't have the best and fastest car.

I'm not even a Red Bull or Verstappen fan, but that's such a lame excuse. Mercedes and Hamilton were winning by 20-30+ seconds almost every race for multiple years too. It's been like this forever. It's usually only one team that's far ahead of everyone early when the regulations change.

Although yes hopefully next season Ferrari and Mercedes too I guess will be up there challenging them.

I'm not an Max fan, either, but he is a prodigy. I told friends, around 2017, that probably Max will dominate in future, wild guess seeing this kid's passion and they'd just laugh at me, because Verstappen was kamikaze mode racing at the time.

I expect the usual scenario where early in the season Ferrari or Mercedes (why not McLaren) look like they've catched up with Red Bull finally, just to be blown off by mid-season. I'd bet on Max driver championships for 2024 and 2025 seasons for sure. The odds are very low, you know. And knowing Max's obsession with driving he is his only enemy in motivation.

He's 100% not on the level of senna, Schumacher and prost 😂😂.

Putting vettel with those guys says it all, that's where I rate max, he's the vettel of this era by far the best car and great talent.

But he should never be put on a list with great senna and Schumacher, even Hamilton really, Hamilton has shown that when they both have a similar level car he's a better driver, to the point max as to getting OD aggressive to try to balance it out.

Nah, you're just a salty Hamilton fan. As a talent Verstappen is definitely on the level of the all-time greats.

I think you need to re-watch some of Hamilton's drives in his first few seasons. He went OD aggressive himself back then.

This is literally from 2011 when he had a reputation of being wildly aggressive similar to Max lol.

Nah I'm not a fan of anyone in F1.

You just try to be a hippie with your sport takes as usual.

Max isn't anywhere on the talent level of those two drivers a mention, craziness to even say that.

The reason is current generation of drivers don't have real competition/rivalry anymore. Yes, Max and Lewis clashed for one in 2021 and Rosberg in 2016, but that's it. Doesn't build any legacy when you are on a league of your own. No disrespect to anyone's abilities, but when teams go Minardi/Haas mentality to spare parts, this is not real racing. And current team politics clearly divide the line who's no.1 and no.2 drivers. Sergio Perez started the last season very competitive and all of sudden he was finishing no.6 in races. Ferrari have this problem of priority driver and they are not in any competiton for championship at this level.

Yea I agree with this 100%, which is why I can't put max on those guys level.

Back then it was much more or at the very least, equally about the car and the driver, now it's 70% the car, 30% driver.

Senna
Schumacher
Prost

Are in a league of their own.

Then you have lewis

The after that, the vettel's, Alonso's and Max.

Most max can hope for is to equal Hamilton.

Personal opinion, I put the Finns Kimi Raikkonen and Mika Hakkinen somewhere near and before Lewis and Max. Mikka in particular, in a competitive car gave hell to Schumacher and beat him twice for the championship. They used to compete in kart racing since childhood and the respect they have for each other is unbelievable.

How's that a hippie take?

Comparing between generations is really difficult for obvious reasons, but I do genuinely believe he's on that talent level. He was incredibly impressive as a 17 year old rookie too.

Anyway opinions and all that. I stand corrected on you not being a Hamilton fan, assumed you were since you're British and how a lot of folks hate Verstappen because of the Abu Dhabi debacle lol.
