I believe the current bigger F1 cars are problematic in wet conditions. Rookies of course spun, but unusual that masters like Alonso and Verstappen also did.

I'd call it lack of talent, might be. People underestimate Aerton Senna's legendary control of the car.
Talent wise, best ever.

Also, Fangio (dinosaur era yes but his talent relative to his peers was staggering. Everyone agreed he was by far the best in his time)

Did Verstappen spin? I know he locked up at one point but don't remember him spinning it.

Bit suprised Sainz binned in so early given his experience now. Hamilton spun before it was even wet, I think he's in for a tough year again.

As I fan of McLaren I'm happy, but I don't like dominations in sport in general. It feels like it, the other teams have a lot to catch up. The car is insanely good, you don't need some mindblowing strategy to win races. Norris and Piastri might cool down the partnership, if 1-2 finishes keep coming.

Something I thought was impossible scenario is about to happen. Yuki Tsunoda will replace Liam Lawson as Red Bull second driver. Lawson blew it.

The season just started, how could he blew it. There must be something behind the scenes.

There's nothing behind the scenes, it's the results. This car is supposed to finish in top 10, instead he delivers Alpha Tauri results.

Helmut Marko has little patience with academy drivers. I knew Lawson was walking on thin ice, got promoted with certain degree of hesitation.

It’s the car.

It’s really tough to drive. Even Verstappen said so.

But Lawson still pretty much couldn’t have done worse. Being bottom last and out in Q1 both races.

He did worse than expected and they probably didn’t expect much.

Should have never gone with him in the first place.

Yeah, that was a masterpiece lap from Max. Squeezed it all.

The thing is McLaren are so close without much effort. Piastri was just 0.04 off Max's time, with bad sector 1.

Now that the unthinkable is a fact, I'm rooting for Tsunoda to do well, but then he fucks up right from the get go. P15.

Honorable mention to daddy driver Stroll, last on the grid.

Antonelli, Hadjar and Bearman all look very promising. Good set of rookies this year.

Although I doubt Doohan sees the European calendar. Colapinto will be in that seat by then.

Maybe. Alpine are free to experiment this season as Renault pulled the plug on the F1 factory, thus ending the engine programme. Next season Alpine are switching to Mercedes engines. Kinda pointless for Renault to run a F1 team - makes sense from advertisement point on Alpine brand, but under the pink livery there's a Mercedes engine.

The hybrid era wasn't good for Renault anyway. Never improved, unlike Honda who had the worst engine ten years ago. "GP2 engine! GP2!" as Fernando Alonso said on team radio.:lol::lol:
