Whatever those 38 teams gain or lose in this deal is from Barca and Madrid's share. They are worthless without us, a bunch of parasites.

Ahaa, because it's from the profits of LaLiga (which is basically the top 5-6 teams), so the bottom is happy to take their share of the cake because they won't technically bring much money anyway.

How can they justify it if it costs 6.3b in 50 years?

LaLiga is in dire need of financing right now? They assume the money (2.7b) invested now will gather more income than the lost 6.3b?

Their justification is that with the money (90% of the 2.1b) the clubs will receive directly from the deal they will grow the clubs and league faster than the projected 4% rate, so the clubs will not only not see any reduction in their TV revenue because of the deal, they will see more. Basically offsetting the cost and everybody gets rich together. That's what La Liga and CVC are hoping, of course.

Precisely. Take Barca and Madrid's actual value, and see if they would accept a 500m deal over 50 years where they would actually lose something.

Barcelona were rumoured to receive between 200-300m of cash injection from this deal. Would have been enough to renew Messi and make a few signings likely.

The problem is they would have likely lost double or even triple this amount over the next 50 years if they agreed to it.

Javier Tebas: "The clubs that don't sign the agreement with CVC, will not have access to that money. Bar?a was due to get around 200 million euros."

Tebas confirms.

Crazy that laporta was about to sign off on this. At least someone at the club has some sense.

It seems that

1- the 2.7 b will be returned in 40 years (+ very small % of interests)
2- they will still take about 11% of the league revenue and 10% of TV revenue for 50 years

will try to confirm this in a little bit with more details.
Could not find a source to back this up.

That whole 50 year argument for barca & Madrid is ridiculous, not even the rest ran companies in the world plan that far out.

For them it's all about what they will lose in the medium term & what agreeing to that deal will prevent them for potentially doing.

yup. football might not even exist in its current format in 50 years.

laporta or florentino never planned that far out in their previous mandates as presidents. it is about landing that super league big money deal now or in 1-2 years.

True, but I'd argue those conditions set by La Liga for the CVC money are not bad and quite reasonable, for example "70% of the resources obtained by each club must be dedicated to investments related to infrastructure, international development, brand and product development, communication strategy, innovation and technology plan and content development plan plan on platforms. digital and social networks.", I think that's exactly what clubs should do to grow.

I still kind of wish we had received the money to do just that. Of course I wouldn't be too happy to cede future TV money shares.

I don't disagree. And the majority of the LaLiga clubs need a helping hand, some rocketfuel to increase their financial state and limitations on the usage of the funds so we don't see an early 2000s situation of Depor, Oviedo, Malaga, Mallorca, Zaragoza, Atletico, Betis, Sevilla relegating.

But then Barca/Madrid clubs need more liberty as they are currently leading world football in content, social media, etc and require to be in control of their strategy.

Even if they can do better they shouldn't be given 200m, be forced to use 70% in activations that LaLiga decide, then have to pay 100% back (with either low or no interest) and then also give up 10% of your tv rights. It is basically making Barcelona and Madrid a franchise for LaLiga/CVC in Spain by dangling a short term carrot.

Does anyone speak Spanish? Please check this one and let us know how much exactly they are getting.

Is it:
- about 10% of LL revenue for 50 years
- about 10% of LL TV revenue for 50 years
- paying back what teams got in 40 years with interests (or they are getting back their investment via the two above %s)
?

I think it is roughly 11% of the La Liga TV revenue for the next 50 years, not total revenue. Yes, clubs will need to pay them back, at either 0% or very marginal interest.

Despite this, 38 clubs have validated the project -six more than necessary-, which will last at least 50 years to solve the narrowness of the moment. In return, the fund is made with 10.95% of the new management company to which the entire commercial business of the competition and an equivalent percentage of the gross margin of the audiovisual business will be transferred.

Seems like about 10% of LL revenue and about 10% of TV revenue. Here is the original text:

Tras la exposici?n de las condiciones de la oferta, 38 clubes la han validado -seis m?s de los necesarios-, de modo que la alianza con el nuevo socio inversor se alargar? al menos 50 a?os para solventar las estrecheces del momento. En contraprestaci?n, el fondo se hace con el 10,95% sobre la nueva sociedad gestora a la que se traspasar? todo el negocio comercial de la competici?n y un porcentaje equivalente del margen bruto del negocio audiovisual.
