I think we should just take the best offer we'll get.

There isn't really much ethics in todays sport and business world.

If there are put sanctions on Tencent due to them being closely connected to CCP we're stuck in the middle. Rather avoid that potential problem.

The less said about Tencent's business practices the better and I do not want Barca to become a propaganda machine for the Chinese state as a partnership with Tencent is definitely approved from up high in CCP.

Altho they are like the 11th richest company in the world too and more than capable of offering more money than the other two.

I don't doubt that in order to get to where it is today, Tencent has to play by the rules set by the Chinese government and specifically when it comes to turning in WeChat user data and censorship etc., but other than that, how has it been a propaganda machine for the CCP?

Tencent and Alibaba doing the same stuff Facebook and Amazon did years ago. It's just not accepted today in Europe/North America.

We were already sport washing countries images with Supercopa etc. What is the difference here?

Too late for moralizing..

The question is, should we continue?

Spotify sounds the best to me out of those.

Don't know what their situation is but if they're really offering 75m I'd take the money.

[SPORT] | Bar?a will soon announce their new main partner and shirt sponsor. Polkadot and Tencent are two more options to become Barcelona?s shirt sponsor and they could pay ?75m per season. #fcblive

Mes que un club died when Ro$ell took over. Then his close pal Bartomeu continued this way.

There is no way back now after the state Bartomeu has left the club in. Laporta's hands are tied.

FC Barcelona has received an offer from a company dedicated to the 'blockchain' to advertise on the sleeve. This is Polkadot, a company that seeks to introduce interoperability between different blockchains, allowing them to exchange data and thus be able to develop more powerful services and applications. That is, the exchange of data and cryptocurrencies between different owners without depending on a centralized 'exchange' company such as a traditional banking entity.

Club sources point out that this company has offered Bar?a to advertise on the sleeve of the first team shirt, with the possibility of extending it to training clothing as well. These slots have previously been filled by Beko, which is only still in training wear. MD already advanced yesterday that Spotify wants to advertise on the shirt as the main sponsor. This streaming music company wants to associate itself with Bar?a to reach the more than 400 million followers that the Bar?a club has on social networks.

Within the club there are voices that are not clear about this type of brand in these sectors, given that many of them have ended up failing, as was the case with Iqoniq or Ownix, and others have been involved in some discrepancy or controversy, such as Digital Bits. or Bitci.

Because it is one thing to have partners in this category as collaborators and another to place them on the shirt as the main sponsor due to the risk that this entails if the brand suffers a reputational problem. In fact, the National Securities Market Commission even warned Andr?s Iniesta when he recently promoted a cryptocurrency brand on his social networks. It is not something illegal but according to the regulatory body it implies risks for investors.

Very much doubt we'll have Spotify as a high paying main shirt sponsor. Would be too good to be true. Don't really see why they would offer more than companies that are ethically doubtful that more or less need sport washing.

Spotify owner is a football fan. He tried to buy Arsenal. Bragging rights for sponsoring Barca.

ِAnd tbh Spotify isn't that big to "don't need us" as I don't think they are there yet.
Rakuten are far bigger and done a deal with us.
There is still a lot of markets for them to explore that marketing deal with clubs like Barca are important.
For example I just found that they have finally opened podcasts outside of North America and Europe, and as songs goes they aren't a top choice here in middle east.

Linking a country policy to an independent company originating from there, speaking in case of Israel, is not my line of thought.

It's hypocrisy, because China has a worse human rights record than Israel with the treatment of Uyghur Muslims. But hey some phones here in this forum are Chinese brands, created and under control of Communist Party of China, so it's all cool, right? No.
