Clubs don’t need the Messis or the Ronaldos to bring in big money, again Manchester United has consistently been the example of it. I don’t think they got their 24m deal for the training kits alone because Ronaldo is there, it is rather because their brand power is huge and their executives are smart. Ours, not so much, under both Bartomeu and Laporta. We suck.

Barcelona at 60m a year would be second in world for a shirt deal and more than Man Utd getting and that is without a single top star name.
Why would you be holding up Man Utd above that and their executives being 'smart'?

they didnt, the deal expired and we made a 1 year extension on reduced terms considering the pandemic. Would you rather no extension and risk signing a long term deal during the height of covid?

Ahh, my bad, I am still thinking about the Chervolet deal which brought them 72m a year, I didn’t realize the current TeamView deal is only about 55m a year. But, the recent deal they had with Tezos or whatever that name is, is worth 24m a year for just training kits alone. Also, it could be a little out of date but I believe they have like 60 some sponsors, more than any clubs? I remember seeing ManU’s commercial income being consistently in the top 3, so that is a testament to how smart their executives are.

Lets see what they get for training top and sleeve but as it stands what can compare has increased without Messi and not one other star name.
You think you have to have Messi for big deals doesnt appear to be the case.
Even if it is similar to with Messi.. it was not even only Messi but Neymar and Suarez at the time to go from that to no star names and this deal if happens would prove that false.
