FC Barcelona Finances

You underestimate human emotion. People are insanely careless with money if they feel they are getting a good deal.

This deal isn't done because of finance. It's love for football. Spotify owner is a big football fan.

Yea the "feel" is very important in marketing, where you are trying to play to human emotions in order for them to spend their hard earn money on things they don't need.

We would definitely get more if talks started recently.
Still happy with the deal though.

Current performances are nowhere near the priority.

Sponsorship deals of this calibre aren't made on emotion. They're made on facts. The fact that Barca is still the club with most social media followers for example.

Barca are incredibly hyped at the moment, but that is also partly due to the marketing done by the club, "Dream Teen", FCB Femeni etc.
The club has an enormous reach and has maximized gains with the hyping of our talents and casual followers going from "that club has no good players" to "they have the most talented team in the world". And that statement isn't even a fact, the fact here is that Barcelona are very influential which is why a company like Spotify want to sign a deal with us, not because we scored 4 goals against Madrid.

As a sports club we have very good positioning, cemented by the success of the last two decades.

Whether you believe it's true or not, the mes que UN club marketing has put us in a completely different social branding than other clubs in football.

It gives a good opportunity for brands to leverage this with their attachment to us. I think this also appeals to Spotify.

So when we add in the clubs reach, fanbase and social media followers, we were a bit undervalued and below potential at the start of the year. But a very good opportunity with a ton of activitations that can be maximised.

Then lastly on the sporting side, it helps that we give a brand like Spotify the opportunity to join on this next youth led era and grow with us.

We missed out at least 2.8m for failing to qualify for the semis of the EL today.

We only earned 59.78m from Europe (without counting the 'market pool') this season, leaving a huge hole in our budget to fill. In comparison, Bayern made close to 90m from Europe after failing to qualified for the CL semis.

Our record earning from Europe so far is from the 18/19 season, when we made 117.73m from the CL.

Hopefully Frankfurters bought enough sausages and beer to cover up the 2,8mil loss. Hah.

According to Culemania, we have renewed with Coca Cola and Stanley (women's shirt main sponsor for the past several years, probably a much smaller contract now in a different capacity). No official confirmations yet.

It is also said that the club is also negotiating with Rakuten (probably for a much lower sum and contract too).

In addition, Dior could be a sponsor for the club (or for Xavi himself personally).

The deal with Spotify is concerning Espay Barca project. The club's financial situation won't change much. In order to sign 7-8 new players, as Xavi is demanding, we have to SELL FIRST. That is the rule # 1.

1. Neto - trading him will save us 6 million.
2. Dest - ................................ 18 million.
3. Mingueza - ....................... 220,000
4. Umtiti - ................................ 25 mil.
5. Lenglet - .............................. 24 mil.
6. F D J - .................................. 64 mil.
7. Puig - ................................... 4 mil.
8. Braithwaite - .......................... 12 mil.

S.Roberto, L. de Jong, A.Traore contracts expire on June 30/2022. So, if we can trade these 8 players, we will have saved exactly 153 220 000 euro. Then, we can start adding new players with better qualities.

How/where did you get these numbers and what exactly they mean?
