Pique was good tonight though, had Llorente in his backpocket, until he slipped...

Pique had nothing on Llorente when they were one on one. Llorente turned him inside out and had him beat. I never knew he had good footwork but I don't expect that to be the norm, he was just inspired by the moment.

LOL @ 'until' Pique slipped'.

Yes, Pique slipped once and that was the one time Llorente got past him.

Unless Tito changes the system I don't see it working.

That's the thing, unless there would be a formation/tactical change in the playing system, Llorente would really only be an impact sub...Would rather see Bielsa and Athletic build on what they have

Same here, they are building something quite special up there. However signing him would add a different dimension to the team in terms of the height department which Barca have lacked over the years

Have you guys ever looked up Athletic's transfer history? I can't recall any player that they have sold in the last 10 or 20 years who wasn't surplus to requirements. Prove me wrong. Their biggest outgoing transfer was del Horno. Why would they sell Llorente (or Javi or Iker)? They can't replace him with their transfer policy. Especially Llorente is irreplaceable. He's scored 29 goals so far for Athletic. Their second striker Toquero has scored 5 and I don't see any other quality Basque striker around. If they sold Llorente, they'd end up like Villarreal after Rossi's injury. Clearly not their ambitions. And they don't need the money anyway.

Every summer the same shit. Barca crashes out of the CL against some anti-football team => all the media links Llorente with us.

Exactly.

I prefer RvP who is much more flexible and a better goal-scorer. Also cheaper.

Hell, even Drogba would be a better option since he would arrive on a free and not change the overall system. Moroever he would offer more or less the same as Llorente without demanding to play every time.

The resemblance is uncanny. Maybe his press conference is to announce that he found out Wenger is his biological father?
