Well I am pretty much against buying him as it stands, because it's true we don't need him at this point and having this many world class strikers just crowds everything up.
But when the opportunity arises and there is space... we take it
Ditching Ibra would be step one, I don't know what else would have to happen in particular but someone else would have to go too I would think, don't want to think about who at this point in time though.
Like someone else said, I can't remember if it was in this thread or another, we can pretty much guarantee that he is one player that R.Madrid would not be able to snatch up, so he'd be available to us in the future as well from whatever club he's at at the time.
But then people are also saying that we're going to bid 80 mil on Wayne Rooney which we all know would never happen in a million years, so it could all be talk about Torres too. Rosell wants him but that's all I've heard at this point, nothing from Pep or anyone else (unless someone can prove me wrong, I may have missed a report somewhere)

I just cant see the value in this. Dont get me wrong, Torres is class but 70m for a guy who we would never get a full season out of? No, not for me.

They have a point in that Rosell may well want to make his own signing, to announce his arrival at the club (and to one-up Laporta) but I can't see it being Torres. Not now we've just signed Villa. And for 70 million? Ha. We still have to see how much Cesc will end up costing us yet. Plus Torres would be yet another obstacle in the way of Bojan.

I have the horrible feeling to.. sandro has to fill wounded but he must remain patient to make his mark in other ways.. I am afraid buying all these players will put an immense amount of pressure on the team also. The same pressure that seemed to kill Madrid's season outside of la liga. I agree at most we should buy cesc and recall botia (and if yaya goes a new cheap DM)

All Rosell should be doing if the Cesc deal goes through is buy cover for right back , centre back , and a wide midfield player. Villa and Cesc will cost Barca around 75 million. So Barca should try and trim the costs by selling guys like Henrique , Cacares , Hleb , Chygrinski , Henry , Marquez , Yaya Toure. That group of players would recoup about 40-50 million. which would leave Barca's net spend at 25 million , which isn't alot. For cover i think Barca should use Botia , Bartra , and perhaps Muniesa. Also taking into account if Zlatan leaves , which will take about 40 million , Barca will have more than enough to buy one more world class player. I could see it being between Torres , Mascherano , Sillva , or Mata. Even though Barca's La Masia is the best in the world , i think Barca would be wise to invest in some of the top young players in the world. Maybe try for Neymar , ease him into the first team , perhaps a loan deal, or his Santos team mate Paulo Henrique Ganso who is been tipped for a huge future.

Not necessarily, the rumor is we would offer less than Chelsea with just the icing on the cake being that we're a world-class La Liga team instead of just more money, but I guess you never know. And if you're suggesting he'd be injured a lot that's not necessarily true either.
If Cesc doesn't happen we MIGHT have enough money for him but still no room for him in the XI, so it's still kind of a bad move to sign him at this point in time though.

i honestly hate the Idea of Signing Torres atm, No need unless Ibra is sold, which i dont want, if we sign Torres and Keep Ibra, what was the point in saying Bojan will stay?

I say we wait until maybe the 2012-13 season to think about signing him. He will still be young enough to give us a few solid years and it will also give Bojan and Pedro a chance to play more right now in the present.
