I nearly pissed my pants when i saw his leg. Good luck to him in his recovery. Such a shame for him in a world cup season.

Good news for Filipe. He did not break his tibia, only the fibia. From what I hear, he's out for only 4 months.

few plates and screws it'll heal up nicely as he is young and athletic, remove them do therapy and he will be back...just in time for the world cup...... semis...maybe

it's not the healing of the bone that's the problem, it's mentally overcoming the injury.

look at eduardo, he's been rubbish since his injury. you can see him thinking, not going full-out. ditto cech. you can see his wheels turning now and he's not been the same. cisse was never as good after his injury either.

these types of injuries are as much (if not more) psychological than physical.

Cisse was generally gash though, but yeh very good point. Eduardo looked a great finisher before his injury. It's one thing breaking a leg/ankle, but when it's a really horrific injury the psychological effect can be immense. Wouldn't be surprised to see it effect the Depor players, as it did the Arsenal ones.
