Francesc "Tito" Vilanova

If Jurgen Klopp speaks Spanish, please bring him. What about Philippe Montanier, Real Sociedad's coach or Rayo Vallecano's coach ? Honnestly, I think that they can be solutions.
There is Marcelo Bielsa too.

Didn't Bielsa fuck Bilbao up?

Anyways, besides the tactical fuck-ups and lack of motivation in many big games this season, Tito's made some other mistakes too:

-Overplaying Xavi
-Overplaying Puyol
-Overplaying Messi (he shouldn't have started against Celta after that game in Bolivia IMO)

Tito's condition could have had an impact though, so I may be judging him too harshly. I still think that getting a new manager and making Tito the assistant manager again would be the best solution for all parties. Like I said before, I think Tito would welcome a less stressful job after all he's been through.

Pep is a much better coach than Vilanova imo. Vilanova tries to copy Pep. But in stress situations he makes wrong mistakes. Pep was able to motivate whole the team. Also Pep was able to get the players FOCUSSED. Vilanova is not really motivating his team during the game. His just standing there... He got lucky there is a boy called MESSI in barcelona. Otherwise he would get no price at all...

Apparently he will give the pre-game press conference tomorrow. First time after coming back, right?

Some people are not meant to be managers. Tito Vilanova is a great staff member and a great person, but he's not a great coach. We need a famous coach to come and inspire the players again, to make them hungry again. I wouldn't say no to Mourinho.

Are there any old Barca players like Pep or Cruyff that could coach? We have had the most succes with legends as coaches it seems, coaches that the players respect

Some knee jerk reactions here. You must realize that it's very hard to keep a team motivated, even if that team is composed of the world's best players. Pep had a knack for motivating his players. He put his heart on the line to do anything to motivate the players. In his final season, it was clear that motivation was reaching a saturation point for our squad. The pressing wasn't as hard and you would rarely see our front 3 making runs off the ball (something that was crucially important for the sixtuple in 08-09). This all just comes down to the motivation of the players.

This squad has won everything it could. It would take a miracle to light a candle up their asses again like Pep did. I don't blame Tito for much. A coach could only do so much to motivate players. I think this is the main reason why Pep left.

Yea i said it a year ago already. How do you motivate a team that wins 6 titles in a year? Most players in Barcelona have achieved everything you can achieve as a footballer

I suppose you gradually refresh the squad which, in general, we have done. Alba, Song, Alexis, Fabregas with a mixture of hungry youths like Tello, Thiago etc.

No-one makes a semi-final unmotivated.

Luis Enrique-but he did a shit job at Roma so the jury is still out on him. We need new ideas and tactics though. 4-3-3 and tiki taka is becoming redundant.

We looked unmotivated in every big match I've seen this season except for the home legs for all of the matches. It seems like it takes the cheering of 80,000 fans in Camp Nou to motivate the players. In the away leg of Milan, Munich, and even the games against RM, the team just seems like it's playing at 50 % without really caring much for the result.

Messi just stands there waiting for someone to pass the ball to him, Xavi passes sideways or back (the whole midfield actually except for Iniesta), and THERE'S NO SENSE OF URGENCY. Even when Bayern were 2-0 up, there still was not a sense of urgency at all from the players. Munich closed down and cut passing lanes because all of the players were just standing around and jogging. With all the crap that Alexis and Pedro get, they were working their butts off and in one occassion Alexis made an amazing run with no defender marking him and Xavi didn't see him/didn't want to pass to him.

I said it before and I will say it again, motivation is the big issue here. This team is good enough to win 3 champions league titles in a row, but you need motivation. This is why Pep was such a perfect fit for Barcelona. The squad was there for him, the main thing he needed to do is to bring a sense of urgency to the players. Remember the heroic videos he showed before each CL final to the squad? That's how focused Pep was on motivating the squad.

Can Tito be the same type of a motivator? I highly doubt it. Tito is more of the Riijkard mold. He's a calm guy who's very passive and lets the players show their qualities out their on the field without restricting them too much.

I agree 100% Richard

I got so mad when tito was just standing there and did nothing till the 82 and made a pointless sub after 4 - 0

When pep left we should have ended the tika taka era and should looked for new ideas and tactics but we sticked to tito and that was our neckbreak. I think pep knew that it was over so how come the managment couldnt see it?

Nowadays our passing is so bad and pointless and there is no idea anymore behind it and we just got to arrogant. So whats the point? Having 60% possesion against bayern away and only 2 shots on goal and conceding 4 goals.

Many people nowadays calls our style of play anti football because its boring.

Next season there should be alot of changes like when pep took over or else we have the same BS like now.
