Francesc "Tito" Vilanova

When Tito took over I thought it was a great decision, that it will be an extension of what Pep was doing, but after an entire season, it's evident that Tito doesn't have Pep's tactical and coaching skills. The basic principle stayed the same, that's true, but as soon as you lose at least one ingredient (pressing, for example), the rest of it goes down like a house of cards, as well.

Dortmund pressed brilliantly against RM. Their team on the park today was assembled for less then the price of Sanchez.

When pep left we should have ended the tika taka era and should looked for new ideas and tactics but we sticked to tito and that was our neckbreak. I think pep knew that it was over so how come the managment couldnt see it?

We won the league title this year. This is despite the coach getting cancer during the season. We also had to play the biggest games of the season with Messi carrying an injury and Bartra in the defense. Were there things that could be done better? Yes, but it's up to Tito to learn from this season and make adjustments.

For a 1st year in a new team ,and being ill with a squad that wasn't deep and had an awful summer market(still can't get over the Song signing ) I would give him at least B+ for this year

Last season we lost the crucial game at home to Madrid in the league two. We didn't do good in the Clasicos but that's my point, Tito has the chance to learn from it and try to find answers. Does everyone seriously want us to be like Real Madrid and have a managerial merry go round? This forum in unbelieveble.

Yes, but let's face it. There are only two teams in La Liga. When one team fucks up, the other one wins. We made many mistakes last year in the league (see 0-1 at Getafe) and Madrid won it. Now, it's the opposite, they messed up and we won many games in a row. But in Pep's last year we outplayed lucky Chelsea, we demolished Leverkusen.

Now we've been nullified by both Milan and especialy Bayern, without creating a single chance to score. This is serious. It's not just a bad result, it's a bad everything. Another manager ASAP, because, despite winning La Liga, the team looks terrible in big games. This year, we had just one glimpse of the old Barca, in that 4-0 with Milan. It was like watching Pep's Barca.

Nowadays our passing is so bad and pointless and there is no idea anymore behind it and we just got to arrogant. So whats the point? Having 60% possesion against bayern away and only 2 shots on goal and conceding 4 goals.

Many people nowadays calls our style of play anti football because its boring.

Bayern defended excellently and would have kept the scoreline difficult, no matter the tactics. However, people like you are missing *why* Barça couldn't penetrate. The clear tactical mistake was starting an unfit Messi. Messi played deeper than even usual, nearly always level with the Barça midfielders, which actually drew Bayern pressure into the midfield. A fit Messi between the lines keeps the opposing midfielders pinned back so the Barça midfielders can advance and keep the ball in the opponent's half. Barça did their best to get the keep the ball and get it forward, but there was really nowhere to go (unless you are suggesting Barça boot long balls downfield and hope to win the ball against a significantly taller and more physical team).

My friend you are forgetting tito is already with squad with pep years,so he should know the characteristics of players already. So he should know about us as well as RM,but he shows he is out of depth against mourinho.

Additionally he overused xavi, puyol also and never generally changed the system.that's where my problem is because barca become tooo predictable.God help because we have messi we could come out as victorious otherwise league was not also an option.

I will take knockout round of CL examples also but then you say injured squad......but you have to remember CL is actual test where we failed miserably.....

one more thing lose is not problem, but how we lost that's problem.....
we were thoroughly outclassed & outsmarted by bayern

He didn't over use xavi nor puyol, Xavi played less minutes this season than xabi alonso!, And how can he over play puyol when he spent half the season injured.
Actually he did change the system, He introduced more 'direct' and vertical play style, Which led to us conceding so many goals.

He was with the squad, but ultimately Pep was in charge. Taking on the coaching role presents new challenges and he will have learned a lot. Not just him, but Roura too.

what i meant to say whenever xavi is available he is playing.and if i remembering right then mourinho rested xabi for many game in between .thing is xavi is also injured that's why he played less but even he played whenever he is ok.

And dont tell me you believed puyol always injured...I know he is injured a lot because we need to rush him back every time he recovers.....but still we can use him wisely in league.

And then he himself said to club to save money on CB and bought song which cost us CL now.

what about tactics...are you satisfied during whole season with his tactics?not every matches but matches where it matter the most.....I mean crucial matches...

If Vilanova would change his mind and not continue next season, the alternative options are Pellegrini (Malaga) and Heynckes (Bayern). [as]
