No chance man. Those were the bad old days. But Pep changed things....forever. There's no going back...

I think the club climbed to new heights with the success we achieved the last few years. We're no longer just "trying" to compete with Madrid... Barcelona now consistently is looking to be the top club in the world. Which is definitely a great thing for fans. As long as the right people remain in charge and make good decisions theres no way we can't continue to compete at the highest level.

We have won 4 of the last 5 Ligas with the biggest club in the world as our chief competitor. Madrid can definitely do the same to us.

What I mean to say is that we shouldn't belittle our success this year. We have had a better season than Man U and I know they will celebrate keenly, even though they have won a weak league.

I'm afraid you have not been around long enough to get a grip of the irrational rationale that guide this club trough thick and thin. The fans and the press will guarantee future failures. Remember, we had Cruyff and he was kicked out by the fans and the press. The we had Van Gaal, he was kicked out by the fans and the press, then they voted in clown nr 1 Gaspart. When you have a club with such shortsighted and demanding environment that surround FC Barcelona, then it is a foregone conclusion that the club will fail again, sooner or later.

Lots of doom and gloom here. I think for the most part exaggerated and rather short sighted. Let's see what Vilanova has said:

Sounds resonable to me, if he dosen't want Hummels then he probably has sound motives for that. Barcelona has a long history of failed over hyped center backs, It could be that Hummels is just another Chygrinski and that we don't want.

doesn't sound reasonable to me. But I would be accepting if I could see the motives

Agree, the majority of players that have been brought in has failed to deliver. I don't want to see another 30-40 million wasted on a player that never settle or integrate with the team.

The thing is, you create a plan and try to find the best players to fit that plan and also guide them to fit in. Tito doesnt seem to see anything wrong with this situation we are in. If we want to continue to be a Pep-lite sort of Barca we wont get any way. In order to move forward we need creativity and change. Tito may find it kinda too hard because he is not going according to an original rational plan.

Exactly, the team is competitive and winning this league shows that. This is another case of over analyzing the underlying problems that has plagued the team this spring. Going for the home run can backlash really bad and Barcelona risk losing a solid foundation for the sole purpose of short sighted desperation.

I dont think anyone here is expecting a revolution, but Tito's mindset of being in sort of a denial about our need to change some ways is not going to help either. not every kind of change is called a revolution. A young base of players is good for a good man manager. Is tito a good one?

Together with Messi, Cesc was the best player in the squad during the autumn, he is one of the main reason for the unprecedented 55 points won during the first 19 games. This league is won in large part thanks to his great form in that part of the season. Cesc should definitely stay, anything else is complete madness.

Inability to find a solid place for cesc will not only have thiago regress but will lead to his own poor form too. If not mentioning risking the balance of the team as a system. after 2 seasons I expect a tactical mind to get a solution for it.

Right again, the season is yet over and Pique risk the integrity of the team with his mindless statement

Pique is not right and I dont agree with him criticizing ourselves too publicly, but Tito should shut him up in private too rather than continuing it in the press.

Hitting it on the nail, Bayern has massacre all its opponents this season, Barcelonas was just one in a long line of teams run over by the Germans.

Not agreeing at all. Bayern had waaaaay more 1-2 than 5-0 s or 4-0 or so. they won Dortmund but no massacre happened. Valencia got a 2-1 and a 1-1 and got out. may be it is only Hamburg SV that got a 9-2 that is as bad as us other wise even the Werder Bremen's 6-1 is better than our 7-0 in CL's semi's. The way we lost to bayern can not be explained the way Tito half assed it.

I am glad he is getting another year :party1: Perhaps those of you who have stated you will not celebrate the league win should try to remember unsuccessful times in the past. There will come a time again where Madrid win 3-4 titles in a row again. Perhaps we should keep the crying for then
Exactly. Also a fan who does not celebrate their club winning the league is not a true fan.

It seems Tito's medical results were good and he's back on course. At least his health is looking up.

Vilanova: "Not winning against Madrid in two Liga games this season? If ref gives the penalty on Adriano, both games would have been 2-2."

My first thoughts were that he's maybe hiding a surgery scar. Does that make sense to anyone else? I haven't seen him without one exactly since he came back from NY.

yeah,I also thought of that, dont remember him constantly(ot at all) wearing scarves before the surgery

In the March Liga game against RM, Adriano was fouled (arguable) in the box and no penalty was given. We lost 2-1. After the game, Valdes criticized the ref and got a 4-match-ban.

I don't know if that was what you were asking, but...

Anyways, ridiculous statement. He's showing to be more and more clueless as a manager and a club figure.

Yup. Adriano should have gotten a penalty but the fact of the matter is, we were shit in that game. It can be argued that while we should have gotten a penalty, that was also because of a pretty silly foul by Ramos, and not because of us. Meaning that if we did get the penalty and make it 2-2, it can be argued that the penalty was a gift by Ramos. Tito really shouldn't be blaming the ref.
