FOUR horrible defeats (Milan, Madrid, Bayern x2), couple of great wins (3-2 against Madrid, 4-0 against Milan), a few draws (in most of which we weren't really the better team, especially the 2 games against PSG, their 2 goals in the first leg were lucky, but they created a lot of chances), and a bad defeat that should have been horrible (2-1 loss to Madrid in the Super Cup)

We were pretty shitty in big games IMO.

You would have been happier if the team just said in that home leg to Bayern 'Fuck trying to qualify and attack lets just avoid getting thrashed'. It doesnt make sense.

Milan was not a horrible defeat. They got beaten 0-2, that's an average football result. A bad defeat but not horrible.
The 0-4 defeat by Bayern, that is what is horrible. For sure.
The 1-3 defeat by Real Madrid was also horrible, since like I said they were 0-3 down and Madrid at that point eased off.
The second leg against Bayern was not a big game since they were already four goals down and knew they were out. Messi and Busi didn't start, then Xavi and Iniesta got subbed off at 0-1. With Bartra in defense too. It's completely unreasonable to use that game as any kind of measure.
In the draws against RM we were the better team. Against PSG in the first leg they had two lucky goals and little chances. They did better in the second leg, but they were chasing the game and Barca were complacent. Once Messi came on Barca were superior right till the end of the game.

Super cup is a friendly and so I didn't count them as big games. But if you do, then Barca were 3-1 in the first leg before Valdes gifted Madrid a second goal. Barca also played most of the second leg with 10 men and were very close to equalising.

Like I said, there's a couple of great victories, a couple of horrible defeats, one bad defeat and a bunch of draws.

Considering it's Barcelona, the quality of the Milan side in question and how we later won 4-0, it is pretty horrible.

Milan was a horrible defeat when we consider the fact that it was against a poor Milan side and we barely created any chances.

It was a poor performance but to be honest Barcelona have put in quite a few of these in away games in the CL such is their ability to turn things around at home.

We never lost 2-0 or struggled to create chances against a team like the poor Milan side that we faced last season. It was a horrible defeat.

It was a bad defeat but keep it in perspective it was half time of the tie and the second leg cancels out that defeat and they won 4-2 on aggregate.

You just focus on the 3/4 poor games and try and make it that means all the big games were poor which is not the case at all.

All teams have bad games. Even Barcelona.

Like I said before, those 4 "poor" games were absolutely horrible. And we only did well in 2 big games.

"All teams have bad games"? So all teams get humiliated in 4 big games and only do well in 2, and I should be happy if that's the case with Barca?

No the team played well away to PSG, Real Madrid x2 (even draw 2-2 at home Barca were the betters side but that was more even),home to AC Milan and home to Atletico.

That is 5 big games that they played well in.

Yeah. I agree. Let see how he does this season too. Not a big fan of tito. But lets be patient . No use in changing managers after every defeats. even Man UTD coach SAF had a huge defeat to man city.

Just seeing the scoreline of the matches doesnt tell us how badly Barca/Messi FC played in the big matches. Tito's was nowhere near as good, dominant or enjoyable to watch a sPep's team

We didnt dominate in the midfield like the Pep-era team. Only in the Milan game we showed the class of Pep-era teams.
Struggling to create chances and just passing around the midfield with no urgency or penetration
Struggling to finish thanks to Pedro/Alexis
We were too easily caught on the counter and a horrible defence thanks to Pique/Alves
Very weak/non existent wingplay. Pedro/Alexis prefer to pass to Messi in awe even when they are 1 feet in front of the goal and Alves keeps nailing the fans with his crosses. those trying to score were benched(Tello/Villa)
Complete breakdown of the team without Messi

PSG's goals were lucky but they created plenty of chances against us. We didn't play well at all in the away game against them. And, as I've already said, the Madrid game was against an injury-ravaged side. So it was 2/3 big games we played well in.

But ok, let's say we played well in 5 big games. That still does not make up for being humiliated in 4. Or should I say 5 (Madrid should have won the second leg of the super cup by way more goals than they did).
