Franck Kessie

The following bums didn't have Barca DNA - Song, Gomes, Arthur, Paulinho, Vidal. None succeeded here.

We tried in getting 'muscle' in midfield and it failed. Because most of those idiots didn't know how to position themselves and couldn't string 2 good passes together.

At the end of the day it's about quality of said players. Yaya Toure and Seidou Keita worked great for us because they were in their prime and were actually very good/world class players.

Even FDJ looks out of place here. Imagine how a fat bum like Kessie will look.

The idea of 'Barca DNA' is holding club back.

There is not a top club around that would have Busquets and not FDJ in their side.

What Barca lack are players that do the basics well not some fabled idea of Barca DNA that is long out of date.

Not that it is an argument for Kessie but that idea in general is a nonense and end up with group of players that can barely compete on the most fundamental parts of the game.

Paulinho was success here for sure, Vidal wasn't a failure for an 18M midfielder coming for depth.
And Arthur was considered by everyone as a Barca-DNA type of player when he arrived.

I agree about the quality argument, but fit and purpose is also important. Griezmann had quality but not the fit

Seydou Keita was never near world class. Rose tinted spectacles on there.

Good squad player but no need to go over the top.

Vidal wasn't a failure. Got way too much playing time, but when used right he did his job.

The only one together with Messi who could hold his head high after Anfield. That's pretty much the only thing I've chosen to remember from that game.

Paulinho scored a few goals at the beginning but nothing else. Wasn't even as physical as people make him out to be.

At this rate I choose to remember Arthur by his Tottenham away performance, when all Europe was in awe.

I didn't say all were failures. I said none succeeded. Like Rakitic for example. Or like Pedri will probably.

Being a passenger for 1-2 seasons and not impressing is not my idea of a good transfer.

Agree, Vidal was a good transfer but should have come 2-3 years earlier

Idk I think he'll be solid for us, not great but solid & we'll send him in 2-3 years for a decent fee.
