Franck Kessie

If he can't be bothered in friendlies against some of the current best teams around then I don't know what he would do in a friendly vs shitty teams. Some shit excuses in here.

Milan is no better than other Italian teams. And that level is EL level, CL R16 exit at most. They finished last in their CL group FFS.

Hopefully I'm proven wrong but from what I saw there's nothing encouraging about him.

It's a valid point. With a rumoured move closed to Barcelona, you would think he would have the acumen to try and show his best level in these games.

I'll excuse anything that happened after the red, but the performance before that and the previous game was poor.

I get there's no World Cup for him to build towards, but not a good look.

I'm also skeptical.

BUT!
Milan are in a crucial title fight and even have a chance to win the domestic double.

Could somewhat understand if Kessie (who plays the full 180 minutes this break) is taking it a bit slow in, for him, 2 useless games only made to warm up two title aspiring teams in France and England.

Haven't really seen much of him, and so far nothing too impressive. But i'll give Xavi and the board the benefit of the doubt for now.

Either way though unless he fails horribly and goes down the Arda route ther risk doesn't seem that big. Rather high salary yes but even the highest numbers for him floating around aren't crazy to a point where he would never ever get a similar contract anywhere else like Umtiti for example.

We also aren't really in desperate need of a CM, and probably can't afford any expensive players there as well. Being the replacement for Puig and Roberto isn't exactly the most challenging task ever. Seems like the right circumstances for an addition like Kessie on a free transfer.

Has he already been signed ?

Who will he displace from the team ?

Very concerning

Laporta confirmed that we have indeed signed a defender (Christensen) and a midfielder already, so I'd imagine so. Puig is leaving, Nico will maybe be loaned for a year as well, as he's still quite raw and reckless a lot of times when on the pitch. I expect Busquets's game time will also get lessened next season (which very well might be his final, at least with us), even more so if Xavi decides to switch it up to 2 DM and a CAM 4-3-3 formation, which suits all of our midfielders except Busquets. There's room for Kessie for sure. Even if we stick to our classic 4-3-3 formation. If he'll take his opportunities and be a success for us, is another story.

He looks sooooo slow and heavy with mediocre technique

I just do not get it

Has apparently signed a 4 year deal. Look at it this way, worst case scenario, he gets sold for at least 30M in the next 3 years, and we make a nice profit. Same as we'll hopefully make with Depay this summer.

Depth in experience.

Don't forget that there is a World Cup breaking up next season, and Kessie isn't involved in it.

That's a good strategic reason to have him right there.

Big question for me is not where Kessie fits as depth is always helpful and so far Xavi is managing his players well.

Question is whether Kessie on a free is better and more suitable for us then Kamara, Zakaria (now Juve) and Pogba on a free.

If the answer is yes then a great move. Even if he performs just decent.

I think Kamara is better, Zakaria is worse but have more definitive role

People forget that Xavi will use different formations when he has more squad depth. Don't be surprised to see 343 with Pedri,De Jong, Busquets and Kessie starting. Kessie will basically cover Busquets and the cbs. Under Xavi I think we will see less of Kessie in the oppositions third.

By the look of him he will not be getting that far up the pitch .., jees he makes Rakitic seem fast

That's fair. I think Kamara is close to Atletico too.

You sure about that? I've not heard any rumours about him for weeks. Apparently has very high wage demands that keep the clubs away from him. Could see him end up at United who likes to overpay players.

Strange how you always point out how slow Raki is but you're a big fan of Busi who is even slower.

Kessie is a Ferrari compared to Busi really, lol.
