Franck Ribery

I love that ugly f""""".:lol::)

He is absolutely phenomenal and has been the best French player for years now. The best player for Bayern München as well and when he is missing their game is completely different. He is one of the very few players that can carry a team alone. His technique is incredible as well.

One of the few players that really could make a difference for us. A shame that he never moved to us. But I will be looking forward to seeing him perform together with Pep next season.

I hope that somebody made a video of his performance yesterday. He embarrassed the douche Arbeloa, Piqué and Ramos a few times yesterday.

I agree with the comments above. One of the few players that would make our attack better and would also fit like a glove.

He is an amazing player, however I question his discipline and tactical awareness to be Messi's wingman...

No reason to question his footballing discipline at all. He works hard for both France and Bayern München and always tracks down when told to do so. I never seen any tactical weaknesses from Ribéry at all. This is not Robben we are talking about.

We are talking about a player who has made 113 assists in 224 games for Bayern München. From what I am aware of he has constantly been among the best providers for 6 straight seasons now despite being injured for significant periods.

In fact I fail to see a more fitting player that could improve our team and fit into the current system. A shame that a deal never materialized though. Remember heavy interest from Pep in 2009 and talk about a possible move to either FCB or RM before he extended his contract.

Can't find any compilation from his performance yesterday apart from this short clip.

well Ribery was definitely the first to recover from the Domenech era which more or less coincided with the scandal of cheating on his wife.. He was the most despised personality and is still one of the most loathed players in France, even after two years with excellent attitude and end results

He has become a better professional and a strong personality on the field for B.M.

Indeed. But I always liked players with character so never really disliked him. How can you when he is such a superb and entertaining player to watch? I like his life story as well/rise to fame.

Comparisons apart then I see him as a hybrid between Don Andrés and Messi. Similar ball control, technique, eye for a pass etc. But unlike Iniesta he is much more lethal in front of goal.

There have been a few controversial comments, supposedly ignoring the national anthem by not singing it (countless of players do that regardless of the national team and I don't see that as a problem at all) and him cheating on his wife. Not anything that would make him a malicious/problematic character at all. He is past that as you point out.

Anyway I doubt that we will ever see him for FCB, sadly, so does not really matter.

Also does anyone remember this old classic? I love it especially since I am both part French and Italian.

"WAS MACHTS DU"!? (4.45)

2009-2010 was a low point for him, he lost a lot of respect due to his escort fiasco and also his behaviour during the madrid transfer saga lost him respect from the Bayern fans, since he has been outstanding for Bayern and France(only guy that does anything for France most of the time)

agreed except Valbuena has become a key player as well for France.
Ribery speaking German is as fun as I thought it would be. And I totally understand players refusing to sing the anthem, it may just be the most violent in Europe. I'd never sing it if I had roots in northern Africa (Ribery doesn't though)

Yeah I wanted to add Valbuena also I never realised how good of a dribbler he is until I saw him in his last few intl games, wonder if he will move away from Ligue 1
