What I dont get is why people say that Robben was better than Ribery last season. IIRC, until kroos unjury, Robben wasnt even a starter. He even complained about the little minutes that he got..

I think he was the better one in the CL last season,at least in the KO games
It is true Robben was on the bench for some time but he responded ,Robben is the player that everyone loves to hate which currently makes him a bit underrated IMO

This guy is overrated whereas Robben is underrated. If Ribery is going to win Ballon D'or Robben deserves it more.

Ribéry: “Cristiano’s victory was politics”

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribéry (30) admitted that he was still disappointed that he didn’t win the 2013 Ballon d’Or ahead of Liga stars Ronaldo and Messi.
He told the media that, “Cristiano’s victory was mainly due to politics.”

“I won everything, both individually and with my club. Ronaldo won nothing in 2013. I’m not sad but it’s something that hurts my heart. I don’t want to be misunderstood though,”
he added. “I’m proud to have been on the podium but I would’ve deserved to win that trophy. Everybody told me that I deserved to win.”
Ribéry was also surprised that the Team of the Year had only three players from Bayern and missed some players from the other UEFA Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund. “We’ve won five titles, we’ve written history. Who had achieved this before? A lot of Borussia players were missing as well, I don’t know why Mario Götze and Robert Lewandowski weren’t selected.”

He´s right that these awards are heavily influenced by politics. Not sure if he deserved it more than Cristiano, I think individually Cristiano was better.

Much selective. Such arrogance. Wowe.

That's like saying Columbus discovered America, even though the records say the Vikings got their first.

Celtic did it in 1967, we did it in 2009 and 2011, and Inter did it in 2010. So no way are Bayern writing history.

Ronaldo deserved it more than Ribery, come on bruh. He's just mad that he didn't win. "politics"

the dude was a machine, and racked up the most goals. People view "the best player in the world" In different ways. Some see it as what a good player wins, other see it for goals/technique.

I personally see it as an individual player reaching a level no other player got to... and that's why C.Ron deserved to win it.

Ribery was in a formidable SIDE. Bayern were the best team of 2013. Just my opinion any way.
