Thnks for the pic. Now we know how he looks
For the same price I would rather have Zlatan than Ribery, providing that Eto'o stays. A Messi-Zlatan/Eto'o trident playing in a 1-2 setup would be much more potent than with Ribery:
1. More freedom for Messi to escape marking, exploit the weakness of the opposition's defense and capitalize on the huge holes created by the 2 CF
2. A better scoring chances conversion rate
3. Impracticality of man marking by the opposition
4. The capacity to backtrack and assist in defense without leaving a gap upfront
5. With the possession of good attacking fullbacks (Alves-Zhirkov) + Messi + Eto & Zlatan's capability to play on both wings; the loss in breadth would be negligible if at all
Ibra & Eto'o are two different type of strikers; both are the best at what they do, but they complement rather than replace each other. If you read point no 2, you will see that we would have a better scoring chances conversion rate specifically because we would have 2 hitmen instead of just one.I think Ibra would want to be the hitman, so, that means Eto'o would most probably leave if Ibra was to come...
So you're saying that during the CLF and our trashing of Madrid we weren't playing the Barca way? Did I suggest we play anything different than the Barca way? Is a 4-1-2-1-2 formation with Zlatan replacing Ribery and Zhirkov, Abidal so anathema to the Barca way but a 4-1-2-2-1 is not?Im not saying we don't change formations depending on particular opposition, im saying we genrally still stick to playing what we currently play, the Barca way.
Yea the same things were heard a few years ago but what went wrong wasn't to do with tactics implemented, it was to do with virtually no reinforcment throughout the entire squad. Even though the Treble was achieved everybody agrees that the squad needs reinforced.
Pep will play the way he makes Barca play, so there's absolutely no point in you banging on about how much more powerful Barca would be playing this formation your spouting all over the place on a Barca forum. Ok you think we'd be better with that style, we get it. Now hush up about it. We don't need to read it in every post you write from 'Player Chat' to 'FCBarcelona News'.

+1
Get Villa, MAta and Zirkov, and we're done for the summer.
left foward. in combination with Henry.I'd be happy with that but I do think we should get an out-and-out winger. The best thing about Ribery or Silva is that they can play fantastically on either wing as as CM as well, though that probably won't ever be the case unless we have injuries. What position do you think Mata would be best suited to play in?
My last reply did not address your complaint that I'm advertising my formation a bit too much but was directed at your "Barca way" statement, so I don't see how I am twisting your words when you're the one putting words into my mouth about how I'm advocating that we should radically alter our formation, philosophy and style and play football that isn't in the vein of the Barca Way.Your twisting my words. My point is still you don't need to mention it in just about every post you make, like i already said we get it, i'd say 95% of the users have read it and we don't need to keep reading about it other than if you open up your own thread in 'Genral FC Barcelona Talk' specifically about the issue.

Anyway, I get your point; but I should add that I only posted my formation when it was relevant to do so, i.e. Zlatan/Ribery/Villa forums + Barca Squad + 3 Targets Poll. Judging by your statements, it seems that after all that you still didn't get it if I interpreted your "Barca way" post correctly.
Seeing how things are going, it seems that we have a remote chance of signing Ribery. Which is good! Lately we've shifted our attention to Villa; IMO Zlatan would complement us more but Villa would still be an excellent choice. In both cases, I hope we're not foolish enough to offload Eto'o once we sign Villa/Ibra.
No need to apologize. I've already survived the trenches during the Balkans Wars with Dino/Bojan at other forum (now we're friends); so I wouldn't fall for that.I guess were both crossing wires a bit so il appologise on my behalf. I do think it's a good idea at times and im not meaning what your suggesting is anthema to Barca just throught it had been advertised excessively.
Gota agree with you about Ibra in theory though, if he were to adapt well in La Liga and playing for Barca and would be willing to do alot of running he would be fantastic, but Inter seem to be asking too much, Villa im very happy with if we can get ahold of him seeing as he's about half the price Inter are asking for Ibrahimovic wacko, is proven in La Liga and already knows how to play with Xavi and Iniesta.
