DM and RB
You don't sell your best CM, who can also fill in as DM and CB, to sign a DM and RB.

You stop squandering money on shite, and use the money when you actually have it on what you need. He chose to keep Busquets, who has been trash for years now, and now he's gone 1 season later and we don't have the money for a proper replacement. It was bad planning, plain and simple.

Definitely shouldn't sell your best Midfielder for overall squad improvement unless the offer is crazy.

But since now with gundogan here, he's our 3rd best midfielder, if you can get a good offer, take the money and run.

The situation with Frenk is simple, whatever you think about where he lies in the Barca best midfielders debate.

He is our only saleable asset who we could sell for 50% more than what he is actually worth, whilst getting rid of his wages which are 50% more than he actually warrants.

It's a unique situation. And one that should be very very attractive to a club that is currently having to recycle used toilet paper on a washing line.

Shouldnt sell FDJ who was by far Barcas best and most important midfielder last season and by far the bets midfielder in the classicos v main rival.

Pedri is class but he probably had 2/3 World Class games last season. FDJ had a lot more and against the better sides.

All players have their price though and from Araujo to Pedri/FDJ if can improve team can go.... but start with the far lower class of players in Kounde/Raphinha or even Lewa before selling the better ones.

Just out of curiosity, when was Frenkie voted best Barca player?

2021, when we finished 3rd in la Liga, and win the Copa del Rey.

He was voted best player by a committee they had set up at the time, basically Barcelona vice president and some sport journalist, (basically a bs award)

Messi was of course the best player, but de jong was solid tbag season.

Nah it was short list from 5K fans vote for final three then commitee of 20 odd from journalists to Barca board members that decided.

Messi, FDJ and MATS three they voted on.

As said before Messi was the best player that season to point he almost gets disregarded and awards would go to him every season.

FDJ was class that season. Was brilliant in final of cup etc and got 15 goals/assists despite playing DM and CB at times and doing well in both.

+90% passing, most passes in team, 3rd for key passes, 3rd for dribbles, 5th for tackles, 4th for interceptions while playing well in multiple positions.

Fucked up season that was for Barca also in way it started and what they were asking players to do with contracts etc and the elections.

Yet some claim been shite up until this season.....Reality is he has been Barcas best mid since arrived and last season again.

What a weird claim to make. Pedri was injured a lot of the season and we got on pretty well without him, no?

Yet when De Jong wasn't playing, we were shite. 3rd best midfielder? Hmm, I thought your game knowledge was supposed to be impressive.

Gavi had a regressive season and isn't anywhere close to De Jong. Gundogan just got here, was a great pick up but hasn't even played for us yet. He's also 32 and De Jong is in his prime. Weird, indeed.

Yea our best midfielder during the most embarrassing & lowest moments in our history, when we had a midfield of busquets, pjanic and rakitic.

High water mark that.

2nd best last season, 3rd best now.

Haha Pedri was there from a year after FDJ and the argument from numpties used to be Busquets, Gavi, Kessie were all better than FDJ.

Now its 'FDJ had likes of Busquets to compete with'.

Usual from the usual.

Do better.

Best last season easily. Was best player with Pedri and without him and team missed FDJ when went out v Real etc when he had been best mid by far in previous three games v them.

FDJ had more top games and was a consistent top performer for Barca than Pedri was even when both fit....and have to take Pedris injuries into account also.

FDJ has had 4 better games v Real in last 16 months than Pedri has had against anyone for Barca... and I love mes som Pedri.

Pedri is class and could be Barcas best mid soon.. for now its FDJ and has been since arrived.

Nah we got on terribly without him, thanks to his clutch goals,(before injuries) the defense and some big goals by others in our 1-0's we won the league.

My ball knowledge is, that's why you should just listen to me & stop arguing.

2nd best with pedri, 3rd best now that we have Gundogan.

Fake news.

Barca extended lead in league after Pedri went out injured and beat Real x2 with FDJ best player on park both times.

FDJ got injured... worst home loss to Real in 15 years.

He scored what 4 goals in tight wins...not huge for an AM really.

FDJ had the better performances. See Real x3 this season alone for levels Pedri not yet reached for Barca but getting there.

That's 12 points, literally 12 points, when we needed it most

Yes you are correct.

Four goals in tight wins is not nearly as huge as you make out.

Was not best player in any of those either.

FDJ scored an opener and had x2 crucial assists.

One behind on the 'crucial' stats from much deeper.

Four goals in tight games not as big as made out and others in those games were better anyway for most part .

Fairly poor stats return for an AM really but not all his fault.
