He's not going anywhere unfortunately, but if man UTD can come in with 80m and he take it and we get brozovic, for 25m.

That's a massive win for us.

Gundogan + Brozovic>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> De Jong+busquets.

Only issue would be, we would need to spend again in another 2 years to replace both, but by the we should be back on our feet financially & Gavi will be closer to his full potential.

But the dutch lad isn't leaving

Breaking news 26 year old had a better 2nd half of the season than an 18 year old.

after said 18 year old benched him for months.

All Hail De jong.
You forget that De Jong was benched mostly because he was refusing to leave when they wanted to sell him due to his salary. They were trying to push him out.

Gavi was not good this season. There was no form related reason for De Jong to be benched during that time. What I do remember is the team starting to look like hot garbage until De Jong "fought his way back into the team".

Gavi is young, so I try not to be too critical, but he really does run around like a headless chicken, rarely is on the ball, and doesn't do much when he's on it. You can argue he's a warrior all you want, but there just wasn't much product from it this season. Countless stupid fouls as well.

We can only hope he improves, because as of right now he shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11.

I doubt the club wants to sell him this time, just seems like lazy journalism.

De Jong is a huge fan favourite in Barcelona too, so it would go down like a lead balloon.

Best mid in team.

Barca be lucky if he resists the numpties and stays again.

Top stuff.. sign midfielders in 30s and over hype teenagers and try to sell best mid at club.

Keep signing these old guys and getting rid of prime players. Great strategy.

FDJ is light years ahead of Kounde, Raphinha etc.

More inidication of how poorly money was spent last summer if looking to get rid of best players and keep likes of those two.

Decent wee stat from today...

Players with the most accurate through-balls in La Liga since the start of the 2019/20 season: - Leo Messi: 27 - Frenkie de Jong: 24

But but lads the numpties claim he cant pass ball forward and likes of Gavi is better!

Sensational.

With West Ham being ridiculous in their valuation of Rice, Xavi needs to get on the phone to Pep and Arteta and persuade them that Frenk is their man.

Getting over 100m for him and his huge wages of the books and we will be able to sign everyone straight away. Roque, Brozo, Cancelo. Even bin Brozo off and get Caicedo instead.

Sell one of the best and still young MF is not smart business. Brozovic can play well 1 to 3 years, and Caicedo needs to improve and prove himself. So we would be left with Pedri, Gavi (who also needs to improve) and old Gundogan and Brozovic. Rather than that sell Fati, Eric Garcia, Ferran, Kessie, Lenglet, get rid of Umtiti and my opinion also Dembele should be sold. As I have sad many times Dembele is too injury prone, without continuity in play and also have huge wages.
So there is so many "deadwood" in team that you don't need to sell one of the best players in the team.

So I would stick around F De Jong and Pedri and look to improve Gavi and some other young talent to come in the future.

The problem is, every Club in the World knows that Barca is in a deep shit and also had bad transfer business. Barca has given so much money for the players and almost never earned back more than 70% of that money, only Neymar was huge deal but then spent almost 500 mil on Dembele, Coutinho and Griezmann who did shit. So, I would wait and do just the same thing Laporta does. Buy free players that are solid, finally sell deadwood and do some good business and than buy stars when the oportunity comes.

You really have no idea how these rules work.

If City come to us with serious interest in Frenkie then we could get a great fee.

We would probably squander it mind you.

Xavi profile bias and all that.

IF DECLAN FUCKING RICE IS WORTH 105 MILLION THAN DE JONG IS WORTH 125 MILLION,AT LEAST!
They can pay us 90 million plus Cancelo. Thank you.
Why do some of you want us to sell our best midfielder.

That's not even considering Pedri's recent injury history and how Gavi had a regressive season.

Our midfield and defense are looking very good, we just needed a DM. Moving on Fati, Torres or even Raphinha and bringing in the right type of winger/s as well was always a long shot. We had the money for a top DM last season, alas, Xavi bought a RW when we already had 2 players that prefer the position and a CB to play as RB when he doesn't want to.

DM has been our weakest point for years, getting exploited in every major game. We had a chance to fix that, but Xavi wanted to keep Busquets and now we're linked with Oriol Romeu. Gigachad squad planning.
