They have different roles though.
I think DJ and Valverde would compliment each other well if put together.

Playing next to Busquest is not a good excuse. Rakitic/Vidal all played alongside to Busquest but still...
Till now, there is still nothing spectacular from De Jong like we all expect back ib 2019.

He has pretty much been a workrate type of midfielder with Barca. If this is how he is going to play, the club would've been better off buying a true physical box2box midfielder.

I think we pretty much overated him a lot . There were expectations that he will save Barca's midfield and such , so far maybe he's holding us down ?
