Contract values you can find online are usually from some random Indian blog posts with no source. According to those sources that cite Frenkie getting gross ?15-20M/year Jović earns more than Benzema, Marcelo, Courtois, Isco and Casemiro. And Case supposedly only earns more than Lunin, Altube, Mendy, Vazquez, Fede, Mariano and both Brazillians, Hazard is the highest paid player (which he isn't, Perez himself says Ramos is, by a good margin).

In other words, he probably earns in the range of 10-15. And after the contract restructuring by Barca, he won't earn this much for the next 2-3 years and will become one of the highest earners in ~2023.

Here's a quick GoogleSheet (note values are different, depending who you trust):

Don't be silly, career wise obviously busi trumps almost every dm to have played the game. Current level and requirement for our team (ability to cover ground, a bit of pace) and system would have Frenkie start over him.

Busi still can pull off better passes, with a wider range than most midfielders out there. He's declined in other areas that make him a liability as a starter in the current setup.

Otherwise Busquets is one of the best ever, just not your usual DM player.

Busi?s passes are absolute trash now. Over the last three years I?ve seen him loaaads of times try to play a pass over the opponents defence and every single time it is too long. Every single time.

He just delivered one against Juventus, which Fati fucked up by trying to pass to Braithwaite or who knows.

Guess Koeman wanted Wijnaldum is not really wrong. It is all for De Jong.

This is it. Football is a team sport and you need players who gell. De Jong is a good player but not the savior many portrayed him to be.
In today's game you need a physical b2b player but our "DNA" 🙄 does not allow for one.

The whole "savior" optics is so outdated. People think the way to build a team is to buy big savior players who can shine even if the setup and the club program is shit. The approach that works is the opposite. Get your house in order, and you never get in the position to need "saviors".

Look at Liverpool. Missing Salah and Firmino in the return leg, when needing to overturn a 0-3 loss. 2 of their best players. Playing Origi and Shaqiri instead. A program based on names and saviors would've thrown the towel, being hopeless in that situation. But when the plan is not based on star players, when those star players are implemented to achieve something bigger, then you are going places.

We've lacked that "whole greater than the sum of its parts" feeling since Pep. Since Pep left, we always got the idea that we are nothing more than the names in the team.

But when the plan is not base on star players, when the program and the plan exists outside of such Galactico-based approaches, you can still play deadly effective football without players who aren't individually gifted.

Or, look at Bayern, Lewandowski is the best number 9 this year no question, but even if he doesnt turn up they still smash team, they aren`t even that reliant on a player that scores 50+ goals last season.

No doubt. The star players add extra value to a platform that functions without being overly dependent on them.

How does Gini fix FdJ's issues though, I'm confused.

They've done well together on the national team.

Yes but how does Gini affect Fdj's current issue of not being able to play as a sole DM or a pure CM at the highest level? He's very good, but he's not good enough to build a team around. If he struggles to adapt, sell him. We sold Fabregas, Yaya Toure, and so on in the past...why not him? We should have balanced, versatile, and talented midfielders who don't need a team to be built around them to succeed. I'm tired of "we need to play Coutinho, Messi, Griezmann blah blah in their special special positions" mindset. If you can't play in a traditional role, sell them. Simple as.

You guys are joking but I truly think it's on point. Signing players for a player to improve, an underperforming one, is down right ridiculous for a club of this stature. We're heading towards Man Utd and their obsession with buying players to improve Pogba's performance if we ever do that. If you can't play here, cut your losses and sell him.
