Would you accept selling De Jong and bringing Tcoumeni?

Tchouameni is the perfect replacement for Busquets, not De Jong, so this hypothetical wouldn't even make sense. But it's never gonna happen (at least not the Tchouameni part). I could see us go for Neves as the Busquets replacement in 2023, and honestly that wouldn't be the worst idea ever, I like him. Also a set piece specialist, we really need one of those again.

That's true but I think he was meaning selling De Jong would facilitate the signing of Tchouameni rather than getting him to replace him positionally. But like you say, it's unrealistic and better clubs are interested.

Tchouameni might make for a better replacement for De Jong than for Busquets btw. Don't think he'd be a perfect Busquets replacement and the stats seem to confirm that.

Either way a player of his profile has been sorely missing for a while, very athletic and aggressive at winning the ball but can also pick a pass out.

Unpopular opinion but a world class attack would balance out a decent (but not spectacular midfield).

In our short peak this season we showed we could beat anyone outside the top 4 in Europe.

The midfield will fuction if the defence and attack perform and support it.

In that period FdJ, Pedri and Busi we're all very good and worked for each other.

I think next season we can reach that level with or without Frenkie, but without him it must be used for a world class attacker and not a world class potential phsycial midfielder that has no quality Infront of him in attack. Sideways move.

He is bad fit with a player like FDJ.
He will be upgrade over Busquets yeah, but due to midfielder limitations we will need to upgrade FDJ in the long run if Tchoumeni is our DM.
Then again, kicking Busquets out is worth it

De jong is not cdm. Playing him as CM is not going to show his best qualitys.

Maybe it is best to sell De Jong, then sign CDM, because we are covored for future with Pedri and Gavi as CM.

You keep saying he is a "bad fit", but how is an extremely physical midfield destroyer with great technical ability with the ball a bad fit for Barcelona? He is literally the very thing this team is missing: defensive solidity.

True. None of our midfielders know how to defend, par Gavi actually. Everyone else is too soft to make a tackle or lacks the stamina to even run back for D.
Pedri does make good effort though. Frenkie and Busi are just bad.

Frenkie/Busi/Gavi/Pedri softness level is probably 9/10, and that's only 9/10 because Gavi who is mental.

We need our version of dirty Casemiro.

Mourinho was right about one thing: nice guys don't win in football.

Unless you are God level like Iniesta and Xavi. Our current players are not on that level, so they need to cheat, kick and hurt more. Play nasty sometimes too.

Softness hurts us whenever game gets bit rough and intimidating..

Frenkie de Jong is Juventus' 'impossible dream.' They cannot afford a transfer fee for the player, but have proposed a swap deal. However, Bar?a are not interested in any of the offered Juventus players. @sport

I guess it's our turn to get offered shit players on mass after we tried the same in the last few years.
