This would literally be the worst midfield combo we could put out.

After we accept that xavi isn't benching busquets anytime soon, it becomes the best.

Need someone who is actually able to pass the ball from misfield, which is kessie, too many ball carriers in midfield isn't working.

If xavi drops busquets, then you drop de jong in that position, but that ain't happen this season.

If he's still here next weekend and gets to play the Busquets role AND we win, I think the penny might finally drop.

Thier will be around 3 changes in the next game, but If we win, busquets super haters will say it was all because de jong started.

Think we'll see a midfield 3 of.

Pedri, de jong, kessie

Bob will play RB & fati will start, then an argument could be made that any of those changes helped the team win, but that won't happen.

Our best RB is our CB, thats says all.

Next year we need to be after L.Hernandez and some RB, but don't know anybody who can be our target.

Kessie wasn't able to pass the ball from midfield yesterday and kept on passing backwards, he was also easily dispossessed. If this repeats itself again next week, we'll have to move on

Who knew the guy that we have tried to bin all summer is still our best Midfielder along with Pedri.

Oh, he makes too much money, and apparently, Xavi doesn't fancy him enough because he doesn't fit his "Philosophy" aka having you all your Midfield miles apart from each other and having your front three consisting of two wingers literally hugging the touchline and your striker isolated and having your Build up responsibilities in the Midfield go to a 35-year-old guy who is so far past it.

Haha. I mean, true. Sad, but perfectly said and true.

Pedri, De Jong as DM and Kessie/Gavi is already a way better midfield. I would like to see either, but particularly with Kessie.

Yea next season we need to go hard after two WC FB if xavi doesn't rate balde to be the long term replacement for alba, as well as a busquets replacement.

Manchester United’s been trying to get Frenkie De Jong, but the situation is currently under stand-by on the player’s side. Chelsea are also still in the race, but the player remains firm in his desire to stay at Barcelona.

I still won't be surprised if he does join them despite it being career suicide, imagine they could offer him ?500k+ pw if Ronaldo leaves and probably allow Frenkie to put some type of low buyout clause in his contract should it not work out/ten Hag gets fired.

Seems they still haven't learned their lesson about chasing elite level players with only midtable football to offer.. only to then pay ridiculous wages and wonder why the players down tools.

it's all connected, you need to offer elite-level players massive wages to sign them if you're no more a constant CL team. And if De Jong is willing to join them, then they should offer him whatever cause their midfield is currently in shambles.
