Frenkie de Jong

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
What is he going to do if Barca only offer a salary cut with an extension? Reject any offers they get this summer and run out his contract?

What happens then if he's simply benched and never plays? In a World Cup year?

Saying "you can't negotiate my sale over 12M" isn't how it work either and absolutely something he can't control.

He can control if he leaves so yes he could say that and club could say no and the it becomes stalemate.. where they all know club wont lose 30m odd to put him in the stand.

Even if not as low as 12m it will be a point of bargaining to try and agree a low as fee as possible.

There is no scenario Barca bench him and dont play him. It would absolutely not meet what either side want.

They would be giving up money to do that. Would never happen no matter how many folk on here claim it is a legitimate threat.

They would be giving up 18m odd rather than offering him freedom to leave? No chance.

Hard to tell if the rumors about the renewal of his contract are true. The fact is that he has played decently for a couple of games, but elite clubs don't judge players' quality just by a couple of games. He has to be useful and perform consistently including against big teams. Hard to tell if he has what it takes at that level. But can be a useful squad player.

No normal club in their right mind would give him the salary he has right now (bar MU). And it is very hard to tell what club needs or would need his services in 2 years. The Premier League is too athletic and physical for him. No club in the Big 6 would find him useful. May be Italy. But there are not clubs that are ready to pay big bucks in salary there.

Yay was and off near end when battered Valencia.

Had to come on for Casado who was blundering for fun v Benfica to help win the game.

Yay.

Casado has been 'eaten alive' a few times recently.. bullied more than once v Getafe and hooked.. Lost ball multple times in bad positions v Benfica and FDJ came on to improve team. Lets see from here.

Part ways at end of season for 12m if needs be. FDJ will be just fine either way.

Casado bossed Madrid and Bayern. Frenkie bossed worst Valencia in their history.

Don't care what FDJ will be fine with, but you are obviously more concerned about him for some reason.

Why do you dickslurp DJ so much, McJams? He's okay player, i generally like him, even though he is quite flawed, but why single out him so much and spend most of the Barcaforum time shilling for him? Never saw anyone having such a boner for one random player (not counting Messi-CR shitposting) apart from maybe Birdy and Dumbele.

No he didnt. Bayern dominated the middle of park in majority of that game and Barca caught them on break.

First Real game at Bernabeu Pedri and Casado were struggling to control it.. hence why FDJ came on and it improve to 4-0.

Casado in last game was decent after being bullied for early goal for Real to be fair.

He has been decent but had a lot more poor moments than folk like to admit and particularly recently. He is also nowhere near FDJ on the ball.

FDJ will be fine.

Sounds like a great move. Exactly what Barca captain would do.

Thanx for reminding everyone that not only is he insanely overpaid, average player but also a cunt.

Of course it is going to be a point of bargaining, but that will be from the buying club. He only has to say I am going to club X and only negotiate with them or I move as FA and we lose half our leverage. That is him protecting his gain and letting clubs sort the thing out.

That isn't like saying you can't make a profit from me, that is essentially a personal vendetta, and it won't end up well for any party involved. That is essentially an agent trying to be blacklisted by the club.

No he wants to stay.. but if club want him to go then both have terms for it.

What he should do is be like captain Araujo and talk to club and advertise and try to blackmail club into upping their offer...

Thats the way.

Club made it personal and not just that.. less fee equals more options and also allows more flexibility for any new club in the market.

Club can cry if they like should he try it. Not got a leg to stand on from their side.

Fixed salary + fixed bonuses are 23.2M per year. That's it, nothing less and nothing more ffs. 23.2M per year is what he signed on and that's what he'll get paid in total - and I don't give a fuck about lower wages this year and deferred wages that year. Sum of the fucking cardamom is 23.2M per year, pls everybody get that through your skulls!

No his salary annually is under 15m across this contract which is the relevant part.,

They all have bonuses.. which are never added.
