Frenkie de Jong

Well I don't care to much if he goes but if he stays he can be nice addition to midfield.

In the end I belive he will want to stay with reasonable salery.

I would like him to go because of FFP and he is not starter anymore, so it will make space for signings.

If we could get rid of De Jong and Fati this summer it would be miracle. I will not count Lewa because he will stay.
In the end he will score more then 30 goals, and we can't get player for low amount he will score that much.,

bet he renews at same sal or with a slight pay drop, say 12 mil, but will still collect full balance of deferred wages, which Barca would owe him anyways if he left to other club.

There are no deferred wages in De Jong's contract.
When will people finally realize the difference between a renewal and a deferred wage?

- De Fraud renewed under the criminal in 2020, and agreed to be paid less the first 2 years of his contract so that he will get more the last years of his contract. It might look like a deferral, but in essence it's not. It's contract with different wage each year
- Deferral is what the club did with Messi, Pique, Busi, etc. when they were paid only part of their nominal wage a certain year, with the agreement that the rest will be paid later.
Messi was still getting paid by the club deferred wages even at PSG, when he had no contract at Barca...

If De Fraud renews (hope not) this summer, he won't get any deferrals.
There will be an agreement with what wage he will get in 25/26, what in 26/27, and so on, until the end of his new contract

It is mistake to renew De Fraud, unless his salary goes below 10m gross per season, which I think won't happen.

Too many renewals by Deco recently, and I am VERy VERY curious to see what the wage structure is, and what our total expenditure starting next summer

This is what I have been saying..

BREAKING: Frenkie de Jong and his agents do not want a salary cut to renew nor will they allow Barça to sell him for a big fee in the summer. They believe Jong's ideal value in the summer has to be around €12m, as he has one year left on his contract. This way, he can negotiate a higher salary with a new club. —

Sounds like BS.

Should have told Ajax that 80m was extortion back then.

Just saw this.

LOL. Of course his value in the summer is NOT just 12m, despite being below par and injury prone.
It is AT LEAST 40m euros.
If a club wants him, pay that up, and you can have him.

As for what the player can dictate, unfortunately for your pet, not much anymore.
He can only dictate whether he will stay until the end and collect the money for the last year of his contract.
Nothing else.

If he refuses to leave and refuses to renew on a wage cut, he will simply sit in the stands for a whole season.
Recent leaks confirm that Laporta will follow this policy with anyone not renewed and entering the final year of contract.
Finally, fat bozo saw the light

You can definitely make the argument his contract was/is simply a back loaded contract which is pretty standard stuff, especially in American sports, I even think a few of the players we signed recently have back loaded contracts.

But I think in his mind, it's a deferral which is why he doesn't want to give up any money

Nah he has plenty of scope to dictate if there is no renewal.

There is precisely zero chance he is put to stands. Serves no purpose on either side.

The salary is effectively a deferral. Both sides know it and why contract was structured the way it was.

Laporta should have regularized the contracts at time.. players would have gone with it.. he didnt as it benefitted Barca to have the reduced salary.

Then they moan about it when goes back up.

Look at the recent leaks. It's declared strategy now.

Short-term: if the player is expendable and not a starter (like De Fraud currently is), then club has nothing to lose by sitting him in the stands

Long-term: if it's a declared policy, it sends a clear and decisive message to everyone either current or future player of the club: 'You don't fuck with us by running down contracts' ,You either renew in time or amicably leave'

That's precisely the stance a strong club should have

Leaks mean nothing as anyone involved with FDJ contract knows absolutely zero chance Barca pay 30m on the books for FDJ to sit in stand.

It literally benefits no one and Barca in no financial position to do that.

They would give him letter of freedom long before that ever happens and both sides know it.

Going by the B team it does seem the club is saying sign or sit once you contract enters a certain point.

Whether they can pull it off for the first team is a different story, time will tell.

B team is completely different.

It costs next to nothing to take that stance with likes of Prim.

Doing it with FDJ would be 30m on books for player sat in stands.

No one with any sense on either side sees that as an option and Barca cant afford it.

100% he would be gone for free or a low fee before that ever happened.
