I honestly can't even judge him looking at the circumstances. Gabi will improve with more consistency.

An example of how tricky a business it is to balance out keeping the cover players in rhythm as well as to give the chances to the youngsters!! Really tough job for Pep and now I totally understand why Milito had been so pissed to want to leave the club. But I'm sure Pep is already thinking out the plan to get Milito to his usual best

It was only one match. Not that the others were really amazing btw.

True but Milito was considerably worse than anyone on the pitch last night. Bad choice to keep him in my opinion. Bad decision from Milito too, he should know by now he's back up at Barca, and wont be anymore than back up

You mean sitting on the bench?

As I said one match is nothing to judge him as it was his first full match after a long time. He's a quality defender and he has proved it before. We dunno what's going on inside the player. He had some rough bad months involved with injuries and worries about the lack of playing time and his future.

Let him be at peace and he will be great again.

He doesn't deserve any criticism considering the circumstances but he was the worst player out there and can a team like Barca really afford to give him consistent play time when most games matter for us? It's a similar situation that it was with Marquez last year when the only argument for keeping him around was sentimental value, and in the case of Marquez he had little ambition left as he retired internationally while Milito's dream is to continue to play for Argentina, and deserves more than to warm our bench.

The club is not doing him a favour by keeping him around.

He doesn't need "peace", he needs consistent playing time. He's a fighter but his decision making it going to take a long time to come back, and being a fringe player isn't going to do that for him.

Last year he wasn't playing 'consistently' either but everytime he was on the pitch he was great. Injuries and psychological let down could affect a player too beside not playing much.

When I heard that he decided to stay I was a bit annoyed. The guy claims he wants to play consistently, which he never will for us, so he can make appearances for Argentina and possibly the WC.

He doesn't deserve to sit the bench yet isn't worthy of starting for us. He should of moved on, however, I think Pep convinced him to stay for the rest of the season since we are short at the back. We're short back there already, no matter how many of you say "Abidal can cover!!!".

Milito is going to be 31 in September for next season, injury prone and aging players degrade even faster when on the bench. I'd say keep him as cover b/c he's definately quality, but he doesn't want that role. See ya later Gaby.

Edit: Muniesa and Bartra are too young imo. One's 18 and the other just turned 20 this month. The only one that has been good for us and is of appropriate age is Fontas; and even freshly 21 is a bit young but better than the others. And yes, I know Pique was only 22 but 1-2 seasons can make a huge difference.

It does not matter how good a guy he is, how good a player he used to be, or if he could get back to where he was if he got more playing time. This was probably the last game this season the team could afford to lose. As if now, Milito seems able to lose a game within minutes. Pep can't afford to play him any more this year.

He is 30, and he wasn't Nesta when he was younger. He isn't going to come back, Barcelona are not the team to be making come backs let alone the type of football you play. Smaller Italian teams would welcome him, send him there and do him and yourselves a favor. As long as he is there, he is going to be part of the squad, without him you will buy another defender, a proper one.

However, with that being said, make fools of yourselves more often please, it brings me joy. Keep him in the starting line up, I am sure him and Pique will end up building chemistry by the end of the season discussing how you threw away the league.

Building chemistry? If it's anything like the chemistry shown in the bernabue last April we'd be alright :)
