I still don't believe it until I read an official statement from Madrid's website, like this seems like one big joke/troll or whatever, I feel like I'm in a twighlight zone.
Like I know Madrid have done some batshit crazy deals in the past but this? This is absolutely incredible, this IMO will be far and away the most ridiculous mugging in footballing history, 100 million for player whose true value isn't more than 50 million at best. For the reported price, he will have cost them what Barca bought Neymar+fabregas+alba for

This deal has FM 13 written all over it. Sometimes in FM 13, when I want a player really badly, I end up paying ridiculous amounts just because I have this sort of fixation for the player, and for the thought of him playing in my team. This deal feels just like that, a fixation from Madrid and particularly the president. Difference being it's for real. Gawd. Unbelievable.

I wouldnt pay 100m for any player even on FM.

To be honest , buying Bale will get lots of viewers from the UK. Mostly people wanting to see him fail. And I'am pretty sure people will buy his shirts as , rather stupidly , he will be compared to Neymar whilst Messi will be compared to you-know-who.
Its fairly clear why he HAD to buy him. I mean they missed out on Neymar so they had to sign someone remortly close to him. Its not just Barca who have brought a big player .. PSG ( Cavani ) , Monaco ( Falcao ) , Bayern ( Gotze ) , City ( a few ) , Juve ( Tevez ) , Dortmund ( a few ) , Chelsea chasing Rooney and United wanting a big player.

Its more morally , they have to sign Bale. Isco and the rest are what they really need and they've done that. But RM are the galácticos and they need to sign a star every season and signing a guy who swept the awards in England is a perfect deal. Although no-one can argue of his price. Zidane came out and said he impressed him most this season ( after the usual suspects ) so it wouldn't look Madrid-like if they didn't sign him.

To me it makes perfect sense, they worlds best players ( if they arent at Barca already ) have to go to RM and Madrid would to whatever it takes to make sure they end up there.
