Defending Madrid will be easy next year. Their formation is narrow already but now CR and Bale will just cut in and shoot all the time. Just block the middle off and they will be clueless.

People need to understand that there are various factors that influence the price of the player, It's easy to get top players for cheap from clubs who are going nowhere and from Leagues where there is no significant competition(ie. Suarez from Ajax), but Spurs are team trying to get into Champions league and the difference between 4th and 5th place in the league could easily be worth 30m.....In grand scheme of things Levy will gain nothing by selling Bale for 50m and signing a replacement who may not fill the void left by bale for 30m..................

They got Lamela for 30M... who is a better player and they have made a profit of 70m already!!

That's my point...Selling him for 50m and getting lamela for 30m wouldn't be too tempting for Spurs hence the high transfer fee.....and I think Lamela could be a top player but there is no guarantee that he's going to score 20 goals a season like bale.....

Lemon curry?
This will make prices for every plain vanilla player rise to inifinity, just further destroying competition that would go beyond 5 or 6 big clubs in Europe.

well, no body is criticising Levy for increasing the price of the player! They are primarily targetting Real for inflating the price. I mean Levy has every right to squeeze as much money out of Real as he possibly can! This is borderline lack of respect on Real's part actually, even the fully loaded oil rich companies aren't doing this shit!!

This has got to be the most dumbest transfer of all time, even worse than our 45m + Eto'o for Ibrahimovic deal. What the hell is up with Perez and his obsession with signing players for crazy money? I honestly wonder just how in the hell he became a billionaire, because he is displaying a level of such ineptitude that it borders on the imbecilic.

How is it lack of Respect when Real are spending their own revenue...It's like criticizing a rich guy who lives in a poor neighborhood for buying a new car.I don't know how Bale will fit into current Real team but in 2 years time Ronaldo will be 30 and Bale will be in his prime so, they are signing him as Ronaldo's replacement and I'm sure he'll bang in 30-40 goals if he takes Ronaldo's place...

They don't even need him for one... He is not even good enough to be CR'7 fake... And it's like a rich idiot spending just because he can!!

Real Madrid has and is doing wonderfully under Perez financially. And I can guarantee you he knows more about business than you do.

For all of you who keep saying the 100 million price tag is ridiculous, well, there are two way to look at it. From a sporting perspective, it's sheer stupidity. From a business point of view, it's not.

Madrid knows their marketing, and they sure as hell isn't paying that amount of money soley because of his qualities as a player. If they are willing to pay that amount of money for him they know it's going to pay off in the end.

I honestly don't get all the hate the transfer get.

That's your opinion, everyone said that Ronaldo was not a big game player and he's not worth 80m and even fergie thought that he got ridiculous amount for money for him but now we can't even buy 28 year old Ronaldo for same amount..Some might argue that Bale just had his breakthrough season and can only get better..

No, from a business point of view its stupidity. He's basically gambling on Bale not cracking under the pressure of being the most expensive player ever and putting up similar stats to those of Messi and Ronaldo. If Bale flops hard, which is much more likely to happen than him reaching the level of Messi and Ronaldo,, not even the best business man in the will be able salvage all the money they can from him. Out of all the players Perez could have chosen to take such a huge gamble on he chose Bale?!. If it had been a Gotze or Neymar I would have understood where he was going with it and agreed with it, those two players obviously have a much higher upper limit than Bale.

Not to mention, he's putting the entire harmony between the team at risk. How will players like Ozil, Di Maria and Benzema who have shown much more than Bale has, and over more than one season, feel when they are benched for someone who if, actually when, he ends up not performing to the standards of the most expensive player of all time, will still be played over them because of his transfer fee, even if they perform better than him? Not to mention how Ronaldo must feel to have someone not even worth his right toe breaking his transfer record.

This whole thing is going to turn into one huge clusterfuck of a mess and even though as a Barca fan I will be laughing at Madrid's troubles it atill won't be pretty to see the implosion.

I agree. It's a transfer that makes no sense.
But don't underestimate Flo. If there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that he can make money out of thin air.

Here's a perspective... CR7 had already won the Ballon d'Or and even came second once. What has Bale accomplished till now? He was voted the PFA Player of the Year once! So please stop comparing him to CR7!!

Even the greatest manager in the history, arguably, thought that €94 million was a huge chunk of money to spend on a single player... Now Real are going on to do the same, and more, for a stupid player who is not fit enough to be even a fake of the said Ballon d'Or winner! See, that is foolish!!

Has the move really helped CR7? The jury is still out IMO! It could still turn out to be a great success for him, but is it one already? Man Utd won more trophies than he did after he left them.... They reached the CL final while he could only reach the semi and may be he even could have helped them win the CL if he was playing for them thereby snatching the Ballon d'Or from Messi!!
